I hope it's okay to go ahead and post here. I'm looking forward to hopefully, finally being able to join in on some of the local write-ins this year.

I'm Becky, I live in North Miami Beach. This will be my fourth NaNo, and hopefully my third win. I had to drop out last year, but I'm excited about diving in full speed this time around!

I'm not sure if I will be participating in any write-ins but I'm glad to see you're as excited as I am. This is my first year doing NaNoWriMo so it should be fun. Good luck!

Hey Beckyo and Map1124!

Glad to see you are both psyched about this year! I'm the Miami ML and I'm breaking in the role so this should be a fun ride.

Ta,

Mimi.

Hey everyone!
I'm so happy to see that someone got up to the task of ML, you rock Mimi!
Names Monica, this will be my third year. First year failed miserably and won second year, aiming for a second win this year!
Can't wait for this to start and go to the write-ins.

Much loves.

Exploratory "Hi" from Kendall...

This is my first year actually jumping in and getting my feet wet and I'm excited! (although, sadly, currently idealess...) I thought that getting in there might help motivate the creative juices to get a-flowin', so here's hoping!

I'm glad to see there's a forum for us "Miami-ans" and I hope we can organize some write-in's or get togethers so we can meet and commiserate in person.

^_^

Very pleased to meet all of you!

xoxo

Hey everyone! Had some technical difficulties but I'm back for another awesome year. We'll definitely be having write-ins at the Panera at Dadeland on Sundays at 2pm just like last year. Where else would you guys like to meet and when is good for you?

Also, Mimi and I will let you know when and where the kickoff party will be once that's decided, but meanwhile, any suggestions? Last year we had it in Coral Gables at Titanic, but it was pretty loud and sometimes hard to hear each other.

Three weeks and counting! EEK!

Will there be any get togethers up in North Dade this year?

There should be! I think Mimi is going to be handling those so she'll be able to give you more details about times and locations. Any suggestions? I know for the past few years, people have met at the Borders in Aventura.

Hi everyone! My name's Adri, and I write fanfiction XD. So I'm joining the fun to see if I can get something of my own creation out there, I'm really excited to see how it goes and to meet other people who are as enthused about writing as I am. Don't know if I'll be able to attend the events but I'm hoping to!

Welcome, guys! I've already posted the South Miami write-in dates and times on the calendar, which is on the main Miami page. The North Miami stuff will be up soon. I'm trying to get Panera to sponsor us this year since we spend so much time and dinero there; I'll let you know if it works out.

Check out the other thread about what you're writing if you haven't already. And don't be shy about starting new conversations about whatever you want; it's your forum, after all!

Hi there, my name is Amy and I live in Miami. I was wondering, would it be possible to have write-ins closer to Doral or something? Preferably in the Dolphin or International mall? I was unable to go to any last year because they were too far.

I know there were some write-ins at FIU last year; is that close enough? If not, we can try to set something up for the Borders at Dolphin Mall or the library at International. What days and times would be good for you?

Dolphin would be best for me and I can usually make it on Saturdays around 2 pm or later. :D

Panera write-ins sound great! I might actually be able to attend them. Can't wait to get to know all of you! BTW for those of you who want write-ins at Dolphin you should try heading to Borders.

Okay, Saturdays at Dolphin mall it is! 2pm sounds good. I'll add it to the calendar. Luckily I live near the Turnpike so I should be able to get there pretty quickly. Not sure how close it is for Mimi but hopefully she can join us, too.

I was also planning to have a midnight write-in on October 31/November 1 but it was pointed out to me that this is Halloween and nobody would show up because everyone will be partying elsewhere. True or false?

I can't do a midnight on Oct.31, but that's because I'm a church musician. Seeing that November 1st is a Sunday, I have to be up and in good voice that morning. Phooey! :D

Hiya!

I'm Nikki and I'm a second year. I bombed last year (thanks to my computer spazzing on me!), and I'm back hoping to make a go at it once more. I'm really looking forward to it, esp. since I'm working on the outlining and whatnot of the story now. That coupled with actual schoolwork, hehe.... ;)

I'm from Miami, and maybe I'll do a sit in depending on my schedule. Really nice to see other peeps from Miami on here!!

The Panera on Kendall and 135th is an excellent place to write. I have worked on several scripts there. I live in Doral now, so I plan to hit up the Panera on 97th Avenue and 41st (Doral Blvd). I also plan to return to the Panera on Kendall.

If anyone is interested in joining me at either location, you are welcomed to come along. This is my first NaNoWriMo and I'm excited to start.

Hey Rafael, welcome! At the moment, Doral write-ins are scheduled for the Borders at Dolphin Mall, but if folks want to move them to the Panera then I'm all for it! The South Miami group meets at the Dadeland Panera and it has been nothing but a great experience. Good food, good coffee, and of course free wi-fi. Who could ask for more?

Hey guys! I'm Nikki and this is my second year. My first time was...well, it didn't quite work out, but trying to write a novel during exams was tough my first time. This time, I'm just trying to hit the half-way mark because of finals at the end of November, then touring for my ensemble at school.

Dolphin's a bit of a drive, so I don't think I'll be able to make it out to those. Panera at Dadeland could work, and I'm gonna try to make it there. I didn't do any write-ins last year, and I think that could be why it ended so badly, so I'm definitely going to try to make as many as I can this year.

Can't wait to start!

Hey mono, are you in the Gables? I was thinking of having lunch write-ins at the Borders at Merrick Park if anyone is interested.
