Will plan on larger attendance! Thanks for understanding.

Thread now closed. Please be aware that our space is limited...writers only.

I would love to participate in a kickoff party. I am in Lakewood and serve in the military so nights would be beat for me any time after 5pm. Also if it could be child friendly that would be awesome so that my wife and daughter could attend.Let me know if anything gets organized.

I agree with JJessie that it needs to be family friendly, as my 10 year old is doing NaNo with me this year.

So should we plan on something for like Friday, the 30th, or perhaps earlier that week?

Hey I'm interested too and family friendly would be great as my 8 year old is being my muse for this book. I live in Puyallup and evening would be good although I am limited to Friday and Saturday evenings.

I live in the Tacoma area and Friday night the 30th is a good night, as the next night is Trick-or-Treat night. Alternately, we could do a Sunday morning brunch thingy on November 1st. There's a coffee shop in Tacoma that Nano's have traditionally met at, called "The Mandolin Cafe" (http://www.themandolincafe.com/) They are open at 8am on Sunday and have a private room we could gather at (reservations and small fee required...but if we all chipped in...) and it's family friendly with free wifi.

Come to think on it, Sunday am would work best for me. How about you guys?

Seeing as Halloween is my favorite holiday, I would love a Sunday morning brunch.

Hi. Just a heads up. We've got two proposed locations for the meetup and two separate dates. I'm narrowing down details, but I'd rather not pay anyone for a location because well...anything we do will come out of our pockets. Zabrina's trying to get the Borders in Puyallup to host it for us (hopefully for free) and the Mandolin's a great backup. I'm thnking either Friday the 30th at night or Sunda the 25th in the afternoon. Weigh in on the decision, I promise to listen to everyone's side.

Friday the 30th at Borders sounds like a great idea if we can get them to host us.

Given my lack of transportation I'm partial to the Borders in Puyallup. I'm abstaining for choosing a day and time - my work schedule is pretty much whenever they want me. So it's going to take some bribery no matter what the date and time.

I'd like to come! Borders would probably work best for me, and Friday or Sunday would be better than Sat, but I might be able to make it on another day, depending on the time.

I'd gladly come on Friday, 10-30, anywhere in the Puyallup area. (Borders would be fine.) An evening time sounds best for most of the reply-ers above, and I'm game for that, too. Thanks for the work so far, Trilli, and let us all know when things "gel"!

Well, failing the Borders in Puyallup, the Barnes and Noble here in Lakewood might appreciate us too, especially on a Friday evening. It's at the Town Center, right on the Pierce Transit lines, so it's not in the least difficult to get to if we prefer that.

Besides, it's a bit bigger, and there's a theater right next door for a little Hollywood-level inspiration ;)

Yay! I'll be there with bells on (literally). I have a work Halloween party that day, so unfortunately, you'll be able to recognize me as the NaNoWriMo participant dressed as...Tinkerbell.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the kick off party. I am working a night shift that night. Military schedule kills me sometimes. I will be there in heart though. Anxious to get things started with Nano. If there is any important information put out please someone place notes about it in here as I will have internet there so I can check in here for any info pertaining to the event. Too bad you can't do video through my Ipod or I could do a video conference so I could be there..lol. Well have fun and hope to make it to a write in soon.

I would definitely like to attend the kickoff party! Like I said in my intro, I'm super nervous about social sits, but if I get scared I'll make my hubs drag me in by my hair and duct tape me to a chair :)

So, count me in!

Also, I'm kinda poor, but if there is anything I can do to help out, just let me know!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!
