Hello novelists of Anderson! It's Dawson, ready for another great year of NaNo.

Let's start up early on the write-in organization. Not many people came last year but I look forward to this year as being the one I finally get around to telling the library about this. Do we still want to carry on the Sunday Panera meet-ups at 3:00? I'd love to do that.

Looking forward to a great year, and all ye newbies, you can do it!

Dawson

Hey, Dawson.

Do you think more people will show up this year? It was pretty disappointing...

Ha, I wasn't even decided on doing it this year, but then I logged in and it said I was an official participant and my word count was back to zero. I guess I can't not rise to the challenge now!

I don't know about Sundays, but would love to connect online with Anderson writers. May be able to make one of the Sundays (Sundays are usually family days/sabbath-rest days for our family).

Hi Jaymie!

Yeah, we can definitely arrange to have meets online. I think you're going to like November. :)

Not sure how much I'd actually be able to meet up with college and all, but I definitely want to throw my hat in this ring.

Are you an AU student by chance? Because I am. I've done this for two years without knowing anyone else on my campus who was doing this crazy thing too...

Perhaps we can organize a day that's convenient for everyone?

Yep, I'm at AU. Sophomore English and Writing major. I didn't think anyone else here would be doing it, but then I saw this. Good times.

And I could probably find the time, if a date is decided upon. Just...you know. Let me know.

Hey guys. I'm back this year and would be up for a meetup or a dozen :)

Sundays at 3 should work for me. My husband and three of my kids are performing the Nutcracker with AYBT, so Saturdays are reserved for playing chauffeur. The bulk of my writing should take place in the mornings [as soon as the kids get on the bus] at either the library or Starbucks, but anywhere else would be fine too.

My afternoon schedule is crazy with kids at dance classes, but if we'd be meeting after 7pm or so, I could manage. I know Dawson is in school and there are several college students, but...

Anyway, do let me know what the schedule is. I'll do better with making the meetups this year. Promise.

All right, everyone, we've got one week before the magic begins. Let's plan out our write-ins! We could do them at the library and reserve a room. That would mean everyone would bring candy, coffee, donuts, and personal two-liters of Mountain Dew and we could share that.

You can reserve rooms online at the APL Website. I think we need Bats to do the reserving since she's the oldest and the one the library is most likely to trust with their hallowed Carnegie Room.

I can do that! I'd love to get something set up for Sunday, November 1. What time works for everyone?

I have church until 11.30-12-ish, but the rest of Sunday is open.

I didn't know about these special rooms! I hardly spend any time in the library...

But I'm pumped. Can't wait to meet you all again!

I'm excited about this NaNo.

Hey all :) SInce there are more of us confirmed now. I can offer to bring a 12-cup coffee pot and a 4 cup electric teapot [if anyone wants tea or cocoa]. Just bring your own teabags or cocoa mix - and mugs. I drink non-stop while writing and I'm happy to share what I have.

Any other requests??

I do not know. But I need to stop by the front desk to pick up the key, so I'll ask then. If you ask, they'll direct you too or you can meet me a little before 1:30.

You're welcome to join the Marion/Grant County group. I'm setting at least a third of our events at businesses off of I-69 to make it easier for people from adjoining regions to join us.

We'll have our kickoff and some write-ins at Payne's and the Gas City Starbucks, which are at Exit 59 off of I-69. See Marion post for details.

I really want to get together with everyone to help me realize, I'm not the only one attempting this in my area, but somehow meeting everyone seems a bit scary itself.

Now to weigh out which is scarier: Doing it alone or Doing it with new strange people.

I've done NaNo alone before. It's not fun.

It's wayyy better to do it with other people. I used to have your same misgivings until I went to a meeting in my home town, where I found a bunch of cool, laid-back people. I found the same thing here in Anderson.

You should come to a write-in! It'll be lots of fun and you'll have a support system for the entire month!

I have some baaad news, guys...

The school sent me home yesterday because I developed the flu. I'm more than likely not going to be better or back in time for the write-in on Sunday. I'm super bummed... I didn't want November to start like this. :(

Oh No !! Feel better. And when you return, we'll set up a 'Welcome Back Write-In' just for you ;)

I cleared time to come on Sunday.
If anything, I realized your right.
Doing this alone makes it seem like the dark to a little kid. Its pretty scary.
Though people offer up hope, help, and understanding.

Edit: Does this mean that there will be no Sunday library gathering?

Funny story: I learned about all this a couple months ago through jotting down a sad note on my Facebook status over how upset I was that my 11th/12th grade English students fume at me if they have to write more than 1 sentence! A friend commented that I should set them up with NaNoWriMo. I searched and found the site, looked up the YWP, signed up, and just informed my students last Thursday of there upcoming adventure into becoming novelists!! Half of them have been sending me threatening eye messages ever since, but I am so excited with the few who are utterly pumped, as if I opened up a door to the world that they have been longing to find!

I believe my husband and I will be there on Sunday and we'll be trying to bring a friend of ours! Can't wait to meet area writers!

Ooo good. I resolved myself to come and meet others.
I would be terribly sad if we were suddenly no longer going.
