Am I seriously the only Conroe Area NaNoer out here? I feel lonely. Tell me I'm not the only Northerner around here. Please. *begs on hands and knees*

Hi, RowenofRohan--

I can't decide whether I'm Inner Loop or North Area. I live around Greenspoint, but I used to work at Rice (and used to go to writing meetups close to there on my way home). I have a feeling I may miss the Inner Loop gatherings, so maybe I'll split my outside writing times between North and Inner. Not sure, maybe I should cross-post this in Inner Loop too.

I'm the same way...I feel divided between Inner Loop, where I live, and SW where I have been in past years.

I'm not that far north, I'm at the north beltway, between 249 and I-45. Just moved over here a month ago. I haven't done any of the write-ins in previous years due to not having someone to watch my kids, but I hope to try to get to at least one this year, husband willing!!!

Hi!

This is my first year doing nanowrimo so I don't really know anything about write-ins or anything like that but I'm excited to start! I like in The Woodlands and I don't really know anyone near me who is doing nanowrimo too.

I've been NaNoing in St. Louis for the past few years, but I recently moved back to Houston (up near Greenspoint), so I'm looking forward to seeing how NaNo works in this giant amoeba sprawl of a city!

October 13th, 7:36AM CDT

Good Morning!

My name is Francis and I live outside of Houston, in Tomball. Honestly, I'm not going to meet any of you in person.

But that's ok because I have a plan to be able to connect with you whenever you want. I'm online, 'I mean I AM ONLINE'. If you are reading this some time in between 7:30AM and 3:00PM Monday through Friday, then you can reach me. I will talk with you about our Nanowrimo books. I will even host video chats directly from my home office if you like.

Be ready to talk to a real person, not someone who needs to be your friend to make this work. I'm real ya'll. I talk (type) a lot, and I'm not here to make nice or sell you something. I place this here because you can stop reading if you need someone to hold your hand, I hate that.

Did I tell you that this is my first Nanowrimo novel? 'It is."

I'm reading about how much you want to meet up. I actually do too. I read how many of you have restrictions keeping you from a place or time or motivation. I have those too. Here's you chance to meet then.

Your first contact with me will be through awewriter@gmail.com I'm here, send me something and find out. Let's talk about our novels, put some structure together, bounce it to me and I'll bounce it back. If you do, I may just organize a video meeting or live feed from the office here in Tomball.

That's my offer, I'd like for a few of you to take me up on it.

Francis

"Carne Vale" Flesh Abandonded or "Elusive Lover"

(Possible Structures)

Growing up in a world without fate the boy becomes a man while running away from his past. The only way out of town was with the help from a friend, too bad he picked the wrong friends. Damian can't stop killing after the carnival leaves. It's not because his father was a carny, it's because his father died a carny.

Fate plays tricks with even the strongest of men, too bad Damian couldn't keep his own personal demons from taking control of his life. Lust, trust, and murder in small town New England repeat itself until the end of the carnival season.

As soon as Damian realized the life of a carny had more pleasures than hell, he takes the role of carny boss just a little too far. Greenhorns always get the worst jobs, and in small town New England there are plenty of them to go around. Even the women love this carny too much. Each town has another heart broken and loses a soul to the carny boss who has none

'That's what I'm working with folks', email me and lets talk about yours.

I live in The Woodlands. I met up with another NaNo-er (Elephande) at Panera Bread (The Woodlands Mall) on Tues (I think) during Nano last year.

But it looks like there are more people from the area (Spring/The Woodlands/Conroe) this year. Maybe we can work out an awesome place to meet.

I live in Porter which is pretty close to The Woodlands area--my dad and brother work there, so if any of you guys want to get together in Market Street or the mall, that would be great.

Nope, moved out of the Heights in May and am now living about 8 miles south of Conroe. My mailing address is Conroe, so I suppose that puts me in the "Conroe Area."

Write, just write. It doesn't have to be good...just write. You will go back and edit AFTER the end of November. Just let the words flow out of the tips of you fingers into the keyboard. In other words...WRITE.

Our next meet-up is this Friday. Time TBA (probably late afternoon-evening), will most likely be at the Central Library. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Headed north on I-45, take the HWY 105/Wilson Road exit. (they're in the midst of construction, so it isn't numbered.) Take a left under the interstate, and a left onto the south-bound feeder. Do NOT go over the bridge- take the side road to the right. follow that to the light, turn left (under the interstate AGAIN...) and another left onto the North-bound feeder. The library's on the right.

Alternatively, take the exit previous (I think it's the FM 2854 exit) and follow the North-bound feeder about a mile, but traffic always stinks.

The library's open to us anytime, without reservation, but I had the closing time wrong- they close at 5 on Fridays. I'm going to try to be there from 1-5 pm the 30th. Hope to see you all there!

Heya, first timer here who lives aways Northwest of Houston, so I guess I should speak up here. Not sure if I'll be able to meet and of you guys in person due to school-related commitments, but I'd be happy to get to meet some people on here and find out why people enjoy this so much :)

It was nice to meet you guys! More people should come next time, hint hint nudge nudge...

I think I have a plot now, or at least a premise. So I got something out of the write in!

Nothing we actually discussed, but I meshed a bunch of ideas together. I'm going to write the story of an "Alice in Wonderland" type character who stayed in the other world for years, and how they cope with the real world when they finally get back.

Course, I need a character, and a plotline, and an antagonist, and details- but it's a start!
