Have you ever shown your reworked novel to other Wrimos, friends or even family?

Last year was my first year and I never reached that point. I had all sorts of good intentions about getting it in shape for the proof copy, but it never happened. That is my end goal this year.

My wife and I share our Nanos as they're written. It lends great excitement to the month! I also post it publicly, but, well, I doubt anyone else has ever read any of it! :D

After I edited it last year I showed it to both family and friends - though only a few people read it, I think. After a few more edits and readthroughs I sent it in to a couple of publishers and I plan to do the same this year.

I have a small group of faithful readers counting my mom and sis, boyfriend and two or three other friends, who have practically read all I ever wrote, including my non-revised (because they tend to stay that way) NaNo novels. My best NaNo novel from two years ago, I also showed to some friends in my youth group. I wrote that when I was working as a volunteer in a publishing house, and my boss, the chief editor, was very interested in the project, so he read some of it too. He even said it was quite good :)

I have not had any major part of my Nanonovels read by anyone yet. They are all still at the " I haven't edited it enough yet " stage/ exchuse.

This year I did not intend to even participate... but I came on to the site to ' just see what was going on".
Big mistake.... so here I am again.... Writing this all in a hypnotic trance just to see what comes of it. See you all around.

The first year i did NaNo someone asked at the site for informants for a thesis in anthropology on "breaks from everyday life". I was hooked, answered and became I think her main informant - we even met later on and had a nice evening together. I fed her snippets of my NaNo which was / became very self-therapeutical, sent her the whole thing after I´d finished. I also had a writing buddy with whom I shared largish tracts.
The next year - last year - was set up as a communal thing. I had made a chart of foods and beverages set up like the chemical elements and wrote about each in turn on Google Docs while sharing it with selected friends. They all ticked off certain foods, and I had monstrous fun imagining conversations about salt, cinnamon, honey etc. with good friends. It was extensively commented! Try it - it can be one hell of a boost for one´s ego.
