Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to another challenging/amazing/exhausting NaNoWriMo experience and wondered if there were any other members located in the Ellijay/Gilmer Co. area. A few friends and I meet weekly at the East Ellijay Starbucks for creative writing sessions - we've dubbed ourselves "Writers Anonymous" - and we are all determined to NaNo our hearts out this year!

If you're located anywhere nearby, we'd love to have you come and join us. We usually meet every Thursday night from 7:30 until 9:30ish... or until we get too cold and hungry to stay any longer. :-) I may try to put together some kind of additional NaNo party if there's enough interest.

In any case, looking forward to meeting other North Georgia comrades!

Me me me!

I moved to Ellijay at the end of last year. This is my second year doing NaNo, and I applied to be a Multiple Liaison for the North Georgia area. I haven't met too many people my age yet in the area, so I thought becoming a ML would be a fun way to meet people AND write. :)

So hello!

Finally! More people in Ellijay! This will be my 6th year of Nano, a few done here in Ellijay, a few done in St. Pete, FL. I'll be here in town the whole month. We will definitely need to plan meetings. I'm available pretty much any time, but might need a ride. (To save costs, I don't have a vehicle at the moment)

Hooray! :-) I'm so excited that there actually ARE other NaNo'ers in the area... possibly even a ML, no less. We should definitely try to get together in November!

It's great to "meet" both of you... adding you as writing buddies :-)
(by the way, maytwentyseven... I'm 23, too!)

I was wondering if there was any interest in a meeting on the 18th. The apple fest is still going on, and maybe we could meet and get to know each other? Just throwing the idea out. Let me know what you think.

Hey, that might work for me! I'll be teaching until about 12:30, and I'll have to be back to work at about 4, but I could get together anytime in between. Did you have a particular meeting place in mind?

OK, I apparently need to get on the ball with responding to stuff around here. :)

I did get approval to be a ML, and there is a brand new forum for North Georgia! I'm really excited to be a ML, and even more excited to meet both of you. Hopefully more people will come out of the woodwork with the N. Ga forum.

I am available on the 18th in the afternoon. I'll just throw out some local suggestions (Starbucks, Deli Junction... OK, those are the only two places coming to mind at the moment).

And MKMailer, I moved here last December from Tampa.

I vote for Starbucks! :-) (No, I am not a latte junkie... no, not me...)

Off to check out the North Georgia forum now....

I think I will pose the thought of meeting at Starbucks on Monday afternoonish in the N. Ga forum. :)

Yes. I just joined today. I didn't know about NaNoWriMo until I read a column by Jason Snell in the MacWorld news site. My first and probably last try as I will probably won't be able to type in a year or so. I would love to be able to attend meetings, but I am having difficulty walking as well. Oh, well I can always meet with you online. Anybody else live in Coosawattee?

This morning I woke up and thought, 'November first...Nanowrimo! 'And I wondered if I shoud do it. It has been two years. Last time I got bogged down and could not finish. It would be great if Nanowrimo was in January. Easier for me. Anyway, I am thinking about doing it. I may start and see if my world will allow me the time to particpate. So, please keep me posted on a group if there is one.
Thanks!
Sally

Not to blatantly plug, but there is an unofficial one in January.
