Ohhhhh, cool! I go to Tech, too! What's your major?

This is my second year in NaNo, actually, but I bombed it the first time. It's definitely an exciting thing!

Sweet~ And yep, I'm a Freshman. XD I've been taking music classes here since I was a Junior in high school, though, so I'm pretty familiar with things. What year are you?

I'm in Cookeville, and it's really good to see other NaNo-ers here as well!

I just graduated from Tech in May, so this year I feel like I have no excuses when it comes to winning NaNo. I've done it six or seven years now (have lost count) and won once. Usually I fail gloriously.

Write-ins, anyone?

Seven years? You, my friend, are a veteran. o.o

This'll be my first try juggling 50k and college, so I'm hoping I don't crash and burn too horribly. What was your major?

I'm up for a write-in~ We'll need to gather a few more people, but I'm sure there's got to be more NaNo-ers in Cookeville. That, or we can drag in our friends.

I am in my fourth year here with one more to go ^.^
Classes are kicking my butt but im gonna try to get my 50k.
I loooooove music, sounds like a pretty sweet major.
Do you live on campus?

As for the vet here, hiya and we should try to get some writing things going!

Yeah, I think between classes and NaNo, it'll be an amazing feat to get some sleep.

I love music, too. ^.^" It's a tough major, though. We don't really get much of a life outside of the music building and our little practice rooms. I don't live on campus, but I do live in Cookeville. I was the kid who applied for housing late, so I got stuck in the Days Inn hotel instead of the dorms. XD

I'm friending both of you, by the way.

awww, thats lame. I was in the dorms last semester and i remember hearing about people not being able to get one.
Though the dorms are lame, you are kinda lucky. I loooove motels ^.^
Im stuck in Johnson hall all the time so I know how you kinda feel.
I went ahead and added you both as well.
If my upper division classes dont kill me...50k will >.<

Yeah. My very first class, this guy was talking about how the school had accidentally given him two dorms. So much fail. But having my own bathroom really rocks, and I've got a great roommate. Actually think I'll be here the rest of the semester. -.-

Aha! Well, that's what NaNo buddies are for. To keep each other... not-dead. >>;

Wow. I'm a veteran? Rock on.

I have a plan to start November 1st, right after midnight. I'm tempted to head over to Big O's, eat a few donuts, and write through the night. That is, if I don't end up with some friends at a bar on Saturday night. ;)

The best part of November 1st, and starting at midnight, is we gain an hour at 2 am. So even if you just write two hours then, all of sudden it goes from 2 to 1 and you can still sleep. Great timing with Daylight Savings this year.

So I'm learning. XD

I've not been to the Big O yet. Or the Dolce cafe! I need to get out more. >.>;

Midnight will find me holed up in my hotel room. Unless we want to have a mini-meet~?

I'm another Cookeville resident. I'm trying to organize a few write-ins in places like Waffle House, Steak n Shake, IHOP (for late night); Books-a-Million, Poets, and Dolce for day time. I think if would be awesome to kick it off on the 1st! Perhaps one of the first three places?

I'm up for any of those places pretty much at any time. Except BAM. Cause I work there, and that makes it a very inconvenient place to write.

I know. I tried last year.

Steak n Shake sounds like it would be loud, I think IHOP or Dolce would be great ^.^

And Sara...I envy you, I have been applying to work at BAM for years -sniffles-

IHOP sounds great for a midnight meeting... say the 31st? And Dolce would be cool any other time.

Ok, I handed out my little NaNoWriMo packets, so if you frequent any of the following places in Cookeville:

Waffle House
Steak n Shake
Poets
Dolce Cafe
Starbucks
Big O Donuts
BAM
IHOP

be sure to say something about NaNoWriMo...just to show them there's some interest. I asked in my letter for them to reply by the 21st, so I'll let you guys know what I hear.

As for a kick off party, I was thinking I might have a Halloween party Oct 31st, then a NaNoWriMo kick off party starting at 12am. Although...I don't know how much writing I could get done if I party too hard...

*raises hand and waves* I've been attempting (and failing miserably *g*) NaNo for years now and I think this is the first time I've ever seen a Cookeville thread here. I might actually get to meet other NaNo people in person. *is shocked*

Oh, wow, more people!

Awesome work with the NaNo packets. I'll be sure to check those places out~

As for everyone else, it's great to see more NaNo-ers in Cookeville. Hopefully we can all meet at a write-in sometime. :) I'll probably be around Cookeville for Halloween. Still trying to get this whole "dorm" situation smoothed out. Right now it looks like I might be moving out of the hotel and into an apartment, so hopefully that won't interfere with anything I've got going on. ♥

Hi! It's great to see more people from Cookeville on nano. This is my third year and I've never once made it the whole way, but I have high hopes for finishing this year! I think it would be great to have some sort of write-in, it would be crazy to meet more Cookeville nano folk. I don't know if I could make the Halloween one, but if there was an evening or afternoon meetup on the 1st, I could definately do that!

Its nice we are getting so many cookeville people here. I keep getting more and more nervous with everyone's stories I hear. Im looking forward to any possible write-ins though.
