A thread for Wrimos who frequent RPG.net.

I post as Lauren over there, in case it weren't perfectly obvious :D

This year my novel will be vaguely mystery-ish. I think.

What's everyone else doing? Will you be mentioning roleplaying in your novel?

Discord here, or rather, there.

Writing a stand-alone sequel set in the same world as my 2007 success, so once again will be Genre Pie. A nautical theme this time around, and I've decided on one and a half POVs.

Nerwen there too. ;) Though I haven't actually been by there in months, and really stopped being a regular years ago.

Matt David T. there and... here I suppose as well!

No idea what I'm doing yet! I churn out on the order of 10,000 words a week for work, so I haven't had the head-space to start thinking about this yet. Should clear up next month, unless I'm in India a lot for work :P.

Still don't know if I'm going to formally try for NaNoWriMo, but I've been doing some plotting work and hopefully something will come of it.

T. Canoehead checking in.

This year, I'm doing an urban fantasy. No mention of roleplaying, but the main character was used in a couple of campaigns.

I just realised I didn't answer my own question: if I do mention roleplaying in my novel, it'll be in passing. This year my MC's not that kind of geek. I think. Unless she changes her mind.

On RPG.net, I'm Carmen. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing yet; I'm still in the "write down everything that sounds interesting to see if I can cram all of them in the NaNo" stage.

I'm Chade over there. All my info is on my nano page. I love fantasy, and anything I've tried outside it tends to bore me partway through. No rpg mentions, as it wouldn't make sense in my setting.

I'm in!! (Elfyboy over there.)

Writing a fantasy novel, which is a bit of change, given that the short stories I've done this year have all been sci-fi.

No mention of roleplaying given the setting, unless I really crowbar it in!

Fiona Fairhame (fiona.fairhame) checking in! ^_^

Since I'm working on a historical fantasy/horror/romance story, set in the late 1400s and early 1500s, no I will not be mentioning roleplaying. It's only about 450 years too early for it. ^_-

I'm in as well (rbingham2000 over there).

I'm not exactly sure what the hell I'm going to go for this year, whether I plan to go for guns-blazing action again or something a bit more supernatural with evil sorcerers and demons to slay. Whether or not I'm mentioning gaming is something I haven't much decided yet (though having your characters gather around the table for a rousing game of D&D or some other game of choice would be a hell of a way to up the wordcount!).

Me me me.

I post with the same username over there.

I'm writing, um, an academic fantasy heist novel, I guess.

No roleplaying (though there will probably be some cunning disguises, because why the hell not)...but the main character does have a board game she plays in her spare time and can be a bit of a geek about theory and strategy relating to it.

2006: The Hollow Man (YA horror/fantasy)
2007: The Lost Formula of Cagliostro (Pulp fanfiction, Adventure/Mystery)
2009: Thief of Words (Academic fantasy heist novel!)

Well, no roleplaying yet, but I did have my MC's assistant mention her hatred of Comic Sans, which is brought up on Tangency with some regularity.
