Hi there Gainesville (and surrounding regions)
I'm Christy, one of your MLs for this year, and I wanted to say that we are very excited about the events we're planning for November. A few details regarding location are still being ironed out for events this year, but I'll go ahead and post a calendar soon. I'll also be posting a list of events here in the forum.
This year we have two sister-cites which we will be corresponding with online via a chat room. Each region will be hosting online write-ins that you can attend from the comfort of your computer, so give a friendly shout out to Peoria, Il, and Fredericton, which is in the New Brunswick region of Canada. We'll be hosting an online Meet & Greet for the three cities on Thursday, October 29th, a chance to meet the other regions on friendly terms, before the word wars of November begin. More information will be added to our list of events.
So, to get the ball rolling, why not take a chance to introduce yourself. I'll start.
I'm Christy. This is my 8th year participating in NaNo WriMo, 6th as regional ML for Gainesville. This year I'm trying my hand at an urban fantasy. Or perhaps a magical girl story. I think it'll be in first person, though I'm still wavering on that, too. One thing I do have is a title. I think, unless I decide to change it ^_^
One thing is certain, though, and that is that I look forward to being an ML for Gainesville again this year. I look forward to seeing some of you again, or meeting you for the first time.
How about you?

Yay! I'm so glad we'll be doing online write ins. I so far haven't been able to make it to any of the physical write ins (considering I don't actually live in Gainesville... XD I just live pretty close... about 40 minutes north). So, this is pretty awesome.

Hello all!
My name's Ashley, and I'm super excited to start nanoing. (I'm crazy, I know. Haha) I live about 45 minutes north of g-ville, so I probably won't be able to make any of the physical write-ins, but I'm certainly planning to participate via the web, and can't wait to meet everybody, sort of.

Hi everyone! I'm finally off the fence and have decided to jump in with both feet. I'm two days behind but better late than never. I'm Kenia and this is my first NANO and I'm trying to do a lot of short interconnecting stories, I'm trying out a little bit of romance, a little bit of comedy and a lot of drama. I'm hoping to see which one I'm better with. I'm crossing my fingers for all of us to reach the goal!

Hi everyone! I'm not in Gainesville at the moment (I live in Indiana) but pending acceptance to the UF psycholinguistics grad program, I will be moving there this summer. Maybe even if I don't get in, because I plan on applying until I do :)
I was looking over your forum just out of curiosity and it looks like you guys do a lot of really fun events. We have a kick-off party and weekly write-ins and that's about it. I wish we did stuff like a lock-in and such!
Well, anyhow, I just wanted to say hi and let you know I'm snooping around. This is my 2nd NaNo and I won last year with a sci-fi/fantasy of 50,008 words! I'm working on a paranormal kind of thing right now, but I haven't plotted (I'm winging it this year!) so I'm not sure what the end result will be.
Good luck to all of you and hopefully I'll be there this time next year to meet some of you!
