I'm breaking away from my normal fantasy/historical fiction NaNo's to more of a realistic fiction one. So far I know that it's going to be about homesteading. I'm gathering my resources now. I just need a conflict and a basic plot.

Indeed it will be! My story this year is similar to what I was working on last year (whole new story though, no worries) but my November is going to be exceptionally busy in other ways. I was just published in a Christmas anthology by the Bethlehem Writers Group, so I actually have several book signings to attend during my prime NaNoing hours. Craziness!

Still, determined to make the 50 K... it'll just be that much harder this year. This will be my 4th year NaNoing, so hopefully the experience of the first three years will carry me along to the finish this year? Fingers crossed!

Last year I didn't make it to the finish line for two reasons. 1) I was writing a story for creative writing that I needed to give all of my noveling powers to and 2) I wanted to graduate high school. This year, I don't go to college until spring so I have some free time. I do have a job but that's what secret NaNoing is for.

Congrats on being published in the anthology! I didn't know about the Bethlehem Writers Group -- I'll have to check that out! And the Christmas Sampler as well.

Good luck with the 50k!

Good luck! I think that NaNo is a wonderful time to spread our wings and try new things. Good luck finding the conflict and plot.

Hey there everyone! I hail from Emmaus - lived in Allentown and Bethlehem too. This is my first crack at NaNoWriMo. I have an idea for a story and I'm going to run with it. Plus, it'll give me a break from the other novels I am writing.

Any ideas on meetups to talk about NaNoWriMo?

Hey all, my name's Darik. I'm a 20 year old from Emmaus. This is my first NaNo...I found out about it by using StumbleUpon and repeatedly clicking the button one day while I was bored! Lucky! I've always enjoyed writing, but this will be the first time that I sat down and wrote something of this magnitude...It's refreshing and super-exciting.

Hopefully I'll end up meeting all of you at some point throughout the next month or so. 'Til then, I got some plannin' to do!
