I live in Katy, off of the Katy Fort Bend Cutoff road, I think that's what it's called. I'm down for some meetups and write-ins though, even if I have to drive to Sugarland. :)

Well at least there's two of us. Any idea where we could meet up? Maybe Denny's on Fry Rd?

I live off of Fry Rd. I don't have a lap top, But I can find out if I can borrow one from a family member. And if I can't, there's still ol' pen and paper. :0)

We're out at 99 & the Westpark Tollway (technically Richmond but SHHHH). I don't know that I'll have much time for meetups, but I can provide online support!

I live off Mason Road too. Would like to get together with other writers. Has anybody done this before? I haven't.

I'm totally down for a write-in in the Katy area. I was even thinking about trying to host one at my house (the husband okayed it), but I don't really have a lot of writing places. We just have a small breakfast table that seats four and then I have my desk in the study. I'm hoping by next year we'll have a dining room table that seats six or eight. If it's just a few of us though, it would be fine. :)

There's a Panera near Fry road, a Starbucks on every corner, and the library if we're quiet. I was thinking about going to the Alief library write-ins, but that library is just as long a drive as Sugarland for me. I'll probably be attending the Sugarland Sunday write-ins when I can.

Another Katy writer checking in. Write-ins sound good. I think we have enough for a gathering, don't we? I would vote for a public place over a private one. At least at first. :-)

So it sounds like we'd have 4-6 people. Any preferences on day and time? The way this month is looking, Sundays are probably best for me. I am moving November 7, and then going to RenFest the weekend after that. *sigh* why does everything happen in November?

At any rate, I'll poke around online a bit today and see if I can find us a good place to park. We don't have that many people so I don't think it should be TOO difficult.

I am an idiot. I can't believe I didn't think of this before.

My roommate is the executive chef at an Italian restaurant called Three Olives. It's fairly new, located at Westheimer and Peek Rd. Have a look: http://www.3oliveskaty.com/

I'll have to run this by my roommate, of course, but I doubt he'd have a problem with us camping there on a Sunday as long as we leave at a reasonable hour. I'm not sure about the power situation there, but I'll bet we could pick a table close enough to an outlet that we could use a surge protector for everyone to plug into.

My sister lives in Katy. I live in Missouri city, but we were planning to meet up, so we are both interested in joining some Katy write-ins!

So I just wanted to get a quick feel for everyone's schedule this weekend. If I scheduled a write-in for Sunday afternoon, how many would be able to attend?

Of course, I can always do Sugarland a different weekend if we're expecting a decent turnout. :)

Same here...my sister and I were planning to be at the Sugar Land write in, but we could do Katy. We actually prefer to write in the morning, so if anyone in Katy is planning to do that, we'd choose Katy. But either way, I can't wait!

I've got family in during the morningtime, but if someone just sets up a time then I can plan to be there.

I live in that area also. Today is out for me, but I'd be interested in next weekend. I don't have a laptop, so I'd be pen and papering it. 3 Olives sounds nice. Glad to here there are many other folks madly writing in the immediate area as well!

This is my first time doing this. I live off of Katy and Fry north of I10. I'm interested if something is planned for next weekend (Nov 7-8). Or my house is available. I have a dining room table and the kitchen table.

I live really more off of IH-10, but I can walk to Mason Road. I'm kind of surprised that there are other Katy residents here!

Ok, let's schedule a write-in at 3 Olives for next Sunday, Nov 8. Let's say around 3pm?

I will need you to RSVP if you plan to attend. I spoke with roommate, and he said that they don't mind if we camp out for awhile, but if there's going to be more than 9 of us, they want us to make a reservation. So please reply to this thread if you plan to attend.

I'm going out of town next weekend, and we don't know yet what time we will be back in town. We actually won't know until Sunday, since our schedule will be entirely circumstantial. I hope to come, because I really want to meet fellow Katy NaNoers, so if we get back in time, or even a bit late, I'll still try to come.

Just a reminder to please let me know if you will be attending Sunday's write-in. Of course you can still come if you don't, but I'd like to keep that to a minimum.

WHERE: 3 Olives Italian Restaurant
DATE: Sunday, Nov 8
TIME: 3pm

If you're having any problems accessing the NaNo site or anything like that (I've noticed messages are really slow to deliver), you can also email me directly at j-shumate (at) hotmail.com.

Hey guys! So I'm planning a little write-in for Veteran's day if anyone's got the day off or doesn't work on Wednesdays. I live in Katy, but I know a lot of people from the Sugar Land area do write-ins, so I'm setting it up in that area. I'm going to get it on the calendar ASAP but it's going to be at Panera bread, 1928 Highway 6, Sugar Land, TX on Wednesday the 11th from 10 am till whenever, probably around 1 or 2. Let me know if anyone wants to come so I know how much writing space we need.
