I didn't join any of the write-ins last year, but I think I'd like to try one this year. I'm excited and full of ideas that I'd like to develop into a novel.

hi nonandams08

welcome to the Thailand nanowrimo group!

ah - turbo writing!
during the last three nanos we had almost nightly write-ins meeting on IM msn messenger, then racing each other to see how many words we could write in 30 or 45 minutes. it really went 'turbo' for ,many of us...

the Thailand group has Thai and Western writers in it who live in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Europe. For the last 3 years it was a really exciting mix.

looking forward to writing with you soon!

Greetings, friends -- old and new!

I knew I wanted to wrimo again this year (I admit, I'm an addict), but was struggling with a good project idea. The inspiration finally came on Sunday, thanks to a lot of good J-food and a massage (thank you, dearest Thailand!). Whoo-hoo! Now I'm officially back in the running, eager for that calendar page to flip...

Good luck to everyone as you get ready to write!

S.

Hey everyone, sorry for disappearing mid-way through NaNo last year. My final papers couldn't wait. (Haha.) Also, I dropped by yesterday as well but the internet disconnected before I could post.

At least I'm fully graduated now! (Diploma came in the mail just this evening. Graduation Ceremony this coming January at CMU.)

I think I have some free time to join our NaNo Speed Writing sessions. I'll keep my MSN Messenger ready.

And this year... Hm, I don't know. Maybe it's time I get "Monster Lore" started properly. At least the plot has been (mostly) planned out thoroughly down to the individual chapters.

It's always the writing part that's the toughest.

See you on Nov 1st!

Good luck everyone!

Oh my god, what did I do?
I just signed up because a friend of mine suggested it 2 days ago. I'm not sure what awaits me here and I hope it is possible to write in my mother tongue, which is german. I will never make it if I write in English ;-)
When does it start, sunday? Ok, that means at least 2 more nights of sleep ...

Hi Myller
welcome to the mad adventure of nano.
you can write in any language you want to write in! all that you need is to write...

there is also a german group in germany (actually i think it's many different groups) so you could check that out as well.

nano is all about you and giving yourself permission to write 50,000 words in one month - that means, permission to just write write write. don't look back, don't edit, don't check it out, and don't stop writing when you think it's not up to your standards. you can do all that later.

have fun in whatever language you choose!

Just finished the outline for this year's writing. I thought it was stable a month ago, but had to take a new direction.

Ah, the tricks those muses play.

thanks to those who joined the inaugural write-in at midnight. we have all written our entire daily quota already, and more. although some of us were apparently distracted by snakes, cats, ants, wailing humans, ghosts, hurricanes and other such bothersomenesses.

i had almost (but not quite) forgotten how easily my writng flows when i know there are other people writing, too, and will meet me at the 30 minute mark.

so - just poke me on wildfire186@hotmail.com on msn messenger and i will race you. later at night, aosora-unlimited@hotmail.com (raven adventwings) will probably be there, too.

we have already checked out that it is possible to update the wodcount via your novel information - the little box doesn't seem to work yet - and some bars are growing beautifully.

all the best and a great start into nano 09

Here's wishing Anette and the rest happy 'murdering' the characters. LOL... I go and chomp down something before hitting the sack. See ya guys around. =D

ps: It's been a pleasure to be in your company.

Very sorry about last night, but it really couldn't be avoided.

Remember that incident I told you about on our Nov 1st Turbo Writing Jumpstart? Turns out, there really was a snake in the yard. A 3-foot-long Banded Krait (locally known as "triangular snake"), to be exact. (Poisonous, by the way.)

Took my father, myself and our two dogs about an hour to kill it, then another half hour for the cremation. Don't worry, no one's hurt. (Well, asides from the snake... Rest in Peace.)

I'm glad everyone has met their daily goal so far. I'll see you tonight!

Hi everyone!

"Newbie" signing in for the 1st time ever. Seems a lot of fun so far, this disciplined writing. (What a change to my normal lazy writing ways...).
Too bad I can´t join you guys on the write-ins (no internet @ home) but I'll be there in spirit.

Meet y'all here again!

that would be a nice headline.

but seriously, raven, i am so glad you weren't bitten. I must confess i didn't completely believe in your snake just after midnight or perhaps i imagined a small, cute, disney like snake. I apologize profoundly and am very relieved you were able to save yourself and your family. the animal sounds seriously nasty.

still, so far we are the only nano region attracting reptilian followers.

reading your fabulous novel excerpt i could see a way that this snake could find its way into your nano book - or - yes, hold on - possibly into mine, too. maybe it was trying to get into all of them.

all the best and try to avoid the wildlife for a bit please!

see you soon writing

Sabaidee everyone! I'm signing in from northern Laos, where the wind is battering the house and the clouds are flying across the full moon.

Since today was a holiday, I spent most of it working on my nano-book. Up up to almost 13,000 words and chapter 7 so I hope I can keep this momentum.

I'm kinda tired so can't join the write in tonight. Maybe tomorrow. I just got back from the US and I still can't shake the jet-lag.

Hope everyone puts in lots of good words in their works this week and month!

Welcome back, chanpheng! I'm sorry to hear the jet lag isn't leaving you alone tonight. Do join us once it goes away. XD

I've heard that coffee makes it worse in some people, though I'm not prone to jet lag myself so I can't vouch for it. Maybe you could try some apples and oranges? XD

Anyways, while Anette isn't able to log in and initiate tonight's write-in, I'll be online up until midnight.

If anyone wants to join in for tonight's Turbo Write-In, ping me on MSN Messenger at aosora-unlimited@hotmail.com.

Oh, by the way, Happy Loy Krathong! =)
