Does anyone have plans for a kick-off party this year? Yes, I know it's early, but looking at my calendar I realize I should be planning ahead. (I know... what does that mean for 50K words in November...?)

Nicki and I are putting together a plan for a kick-off party on October 31 -- an actual party beforehand, for a change. Specific time and place to be announced later this month!

All this talk about NaNo tickles me. I can't wait. I would love to come to the kick off, but depending on the time I might not be able to come. We'll see.

Hmm. We hadn't discussed that. Do you want there to be costumes?

hey guys.

I'm not actually doing nanowriting this year, but heck yes, I'll come and cheer you all on as much as possible...and perhaps even work on what I'm doing instead :P

My series needs so much done to it that I cannot justify writing something entirely new right now XD.

I might even plan a write-in this year. :> if that's ok with the MLs, OF COURSE.

I know it was last year (three of us did some meets at LCCC)

Of course you can plan write-ins! Anything that encourages people to write is good.

Hugs on not being able to justify writing something new, and good luck with sorting out the series.

I'd like a rough head-count (and I'll send an e-mail, soon, too) for how many people might be interested in a kick-off party. If it's a small enough number, I'll host it at my house. Larger, we'll need more space. Looking at roughly 12-3 on October 31st. Sorry that it won't be late enough for people to actually start writing, but since Nicki and I both have little kids, that doesn't work so well for us.

Count me in!

I'm excited for Nano this year considering that I didn't get the chance to last year. Too tired from being up all night with my one month old. But he's on a set schedule now so I should be able to find enough spare time to make 50K in November.

We could probably make it 1-4 without any trouble. But Nicki has commitments that evening, so we can't go later, I think.

If anyone can't make the kick off, I'm thinking about meeting at Starbucks in Quakertown on Sunday, November 1, and hopefully religiously throughout the month. Thinking about in the afternoon. I could also do a Quakertown Library write in but they don't have apporiate sugary snakes and drinks, but of course there's a gas station all bit away, we could take turns and make snack/coffee/tea runs.
Anyone interested, AIM me (willowoak417) or e-mail me (elfscuz@yahoo.com).

Was there a spot mentioned for the kick=off? Depending on how I work, I might be able to make it.

I have a hockey game that day at 4:30, so any time in late morning/early afternoon is good for me. A kick-off sounds like fun. :)

Okay, we have a spot! The kick-off party will be at my house, this Saturday, 1-4 p.m. (For future reference, if you notice the header on our forum, the calendar shows events -- click on the event to get more details.)

3349 Green Meadow Drive
Bethlehem, PA

Costumes optional. Though I will have a prize for the person whose costume best reflects their planned NaNo!

The library does have a snack machine... :) And there's a Giant at the end of the road there. Snacks ahoy! The library also has wifi, or did the last time I inquired about it.

Hello! This is a first for my friend and I, writing in NANO that is, and I would love to come to the Kick Off Party but unfortunately I have a Halloween Sleepover to go to the night before and I'm going to the King Frost Parade later with family. Hope you all have a wonderful time,
