I don't suppose any of you are artists and like to draw and could draw a little icon for our region? I'd like to make a regional webpage for us, but I can't use the official NaNo graphics (its in the rules - they don't want people stumbling across an unofficial site and thinking it's the actual NaNo site) and I can't draw anything except My Little Ponies and Fish.

We also need something to go by for our region, rather than just South Carolina::Charleston. Lowcountry Wrimos, or Charleston Wrimos, or Holy City Wrimos, or something that's associated with our region like Sweet Tea Wrimos or Shaggin' Wrimos (which may not be the best idea, since "shagging" means different things to people).

Any ideas?

A stick figure's the best I can do, and even then people are like, "Is that a person or a lollipop?"

I really like the alliteration of Rainbow Row Wrimos, but I'm leaning toward Palmetto Wrimos.

I like the "Sweet Tea Wrimos" and the "Palmetto Wrimos" best. Sadly, I can't draw at all. My stick people are only slightly better then Junkie's!! :)

I like "Rainbow Row Wrimos", since we are in Charleston. I also can't draw. If anything, I could try to whip up something digital, but that's not what you asked for. haha.

Digital is fine - I'm not good at any of it! Except stealing photos on the internet and changing them to my liking. I can do that all day long!

I'm kinda leaning towards Rainbow Row Writers myself. Yay Alliteration!

Thinking about the name, Eric and I (and one of our co-workers) came up with a few more suggestions. The "Palm" Readers, The Swamp Things, or Gator Tales (get it, instead of tails, ha ha)

Also, for the Sweet Tea idea, I did a little sketch of a glass of sweet tea in a mason jar, and the ice cubes have the names of different types of novels. Like Mystery, Fantasy, Romance, etc... I don't know if that would work for an icon, but it was kind of cute.

All our progress is an unfolding, like a vegetable bud. You have first an instinct, then an opinion, then a knowledge as the plant has root, bud, and fruit. Trust the instinct to the end, though you can render no reason.

hehe, I like the names. Swamp Things :P

I'd like to see the sketch - I had a similar idea for putting a pencil in a glass of sweet tea (you know, instead of a straw), but I really like the idea of ice cube genres! I'll be over in Rad Land this afternoon to give Eric a book so I'll search you out :)

I LOVE that idea.

OR ... the crossed pens could be above the towers, and our name above that ...

But the Ravenel Bridge for sure. Fantastic.

I really like Holy City Wrimos! There are a lot of organizations here called Holy City _________ (i.e. my hubby belongs to the Holy City Beard and Mustache Society--haha!)

I can do a sketch, but I'm no good with digital stuff...

I really like the Ravenel (sp?) Bridge idea and Rainbow Row for the name. It's just so, Charleston-spirited! Then again, I'm new to the region, so I may not be the best judge of what Charleston Spirit is...
