Don't know if this is the right forum, but it seemed the closest one I could find. If it's not, could someone point me in the right direction - my map's a bit blurry. :D

Anyway, any Donkeys or Toads in here? Anyone from the smaller islands? Anyone want to have write-ins at some point?

Oh, and I'm Enfys, 15, Sarnian, midly sane.

Yay! Someone from Guernsey! It's a shame you're away...maybe in the future...

Hello Enfys.
I just joined, how great to see another islander!
I'm a bean, too far away for write ins but a relief to know someone nearby will be slogging this too.

Hello :D.

I'm back for another year :D.

crystel_dream, 32, yet to win Nano in the six years or so I've been trying and from Jersey :D.

Glad to see more people from both islands than I've ever seen on the boards before. Hopefully more will be joining us and from the other islands too.

Have fun and good luck with getting to the 50k, all of you :D.

I'm sure you'll all do brilliantly!

...I knew I couldn't be the ONLY CIer doing NaNo! Hooray! Even if it's terribly inconvenient to have meet-ups or write-ins, we can support each other over the sea!

Support would be good, I'm a terrible procrastinator. Truly terrible. I have been caught watching paint dry.

I'm happy to cheerlead as best I can :D.

I'm fine as long as I'm interested in the story but if I lose that interest or I get really stuck then I tend to flag and that'll be when the procrastination kicks in.

Edited because I meant to press "preview" rather than "post" *face/palm*

So how is everyone today?

The weekend is often the best time to catch up and get ahead of your daily goal. The trick is to just keep at it. I know all of us can get to the 50k mark. We've still got three weeks to go and I know we can all do it.

Don't forget to update your word count every day and don't forget it's not how or when you reach that 50k that counts. It's the fact that you keep at it and write the most you can every day. If you keep at it you'll get there (and most likely beat me to it too).

Good luck everyone. Keep going. You're all doing great!!!

Thank you for the inspiration! I just keep getting the feeling that my plot goes dry, then i get a new idea and then i write it all down like crazy!
Ive almost reached my weekend goal of about 13k-14k now! Just got to get one final BIG push!
I aim to get 2k done a day next week to keep on top of it all :)

I'm right there with you Arilella, I have to get 2000 words a day average or I won't be reaching the 50 000 words by the 30th. Unfortunately, I write best in the small hours of the morning and I've just realised that means I need to be finished by stupid a.m. on the 29th. *sigh*

Good luck!

Out of interest what sort of novel is everyone writing?

Hey all :D,

How's it going?

Sorry I've been a bit remiss posting here but I've had a pretty crazy week and even crazier weekend so time has kind of slipped away from me a bit.

So glad to see loads of us in the 30k range as we head into the final full week and now is the time to do our best to get our sprint on and race ahead during this final week into 50k full blast.

For those not quite into 30k DON'T GIVE UP! SO many people find that with the deadline looming ahead it gives them the spur they need to be able to bash it all out and all they need is a bit of time and the desire to do it.

And I think all of us here have that last bit or we wouldn't have signed up for the craziness to begin with :D.

In short, with a bit of planning, preparation and motivation (mine being that a friend of mine calmly strolled across the finish line yesterday when at the beginning of week two I was ahead of her and I'm half going "Yey you" and half going "How the hell did that happen? I was ahead of you before dammit!" to her) I'm sure we can all win this thing together so let's get to it and sprint towards that finish line. We're almost there and I can see it in the horizon.

Race you?

*Poster coughs and splutters at the pile of dust left around her as everyone else here suddenly races ahead*

"Hey you lot! Wait for me!" RATS!
