Squeeeee! This is going to be great! If I get the chance I'll try to cook something. I can't wait!

Ms. Cosmo is com'n to Alamosa!
Look'n to write a great story, words of wisdom for all of mankind. Plotting dastardly deeds and heroic stands. Sharing food and drink with fellow enthusiasts. Can I bare my soul to perfect strangers? For the first time in my life I'm a WriMo-who would have thunk it? Ms. Cosmo has opened yet another chapter! With 50,000 words I hope.

So, I know Little_One isn't going to be able to do anything but I was thinking of having a sit in at my apartment Halloween night (midnight to whenever). I live on the Adams State campus and will be up late anyway. Anyone willing to join, I can have snacks and music as background sounds!
Either way, I'll probably be there November 6th if I can find a ride! The problem is that there's a V-ball game that night, the second to last one, and I promised my old roommate to go cheer her on (she's on the team). Ideas...?

Hey All!
Just checking in to see if anyone else is anxiously awaiting the turn of days.
I couldn't make it to Alamosa tonight for the gathering, but plan on being there on the 6th. Very exciting for me. I have been doing NaNo since '05 but have always lived too far to make it to a write-in. Yeah!
So, what's everyone writing about this year? I plan on finding out how a serial killers mind works. We'll see how it goes!
Good luck to all and happy writing!

Am not sure if you got my earlier comment but I plan to attend the Write In on Nov. 6.
This is a brand new experience for me but I'm writing and loving it so far!

Oh! and you caught my attention with this! I wrote the beginning of a novel once that was a serial killer's diary but it was stunningly hard to stay in character for someone ice cold! I actually planned to write my novel this year about a girl who falls madly in love with a serial killer but it isn't my usual style and I wussed out. Instead I'm going with closet monsters, which is an idea I toyed with two years ago and lost interest in but still like and I might still go back to the serial killer one. xD

I was going to write a historical fantasy sort of thing but lost interest because I thought of it at the end of the summer. :P
SO I'm writing a fanovel that might become an original novel. I haven't decided yet. Anyway, it's based off of the pc game Clive Barker's Undying. Should be fun. :D
I'm psyched for Friday!

Okay, let's play this a bit more organized.
Those who are for-sure attending (of course if we get a snowstorm this weekend I won't expect you to brave it XD), plz2b writing your name, time you anticipate arriving (for those that need to come late or want to come early), and what snack item you intend to bring.
So for me:
Little_one, I live here, and if I can get out of it none (shhhh)

I will be attending even if I have to walk over with my laptop over my shoulder and my snack in my hand. ;) :P
So, time...I don't work, so six or six thirty depending on what kind of transportation I can get. And snack will be...er...edible. Yes edible. :D Okay, seriously uh...I'll get back to you on that, I work today so I can find something there.
Your house is by the dorms and the soccer practice field just off of Murphy correct?

Organized is good
I should be there between 6 and 6:30 but I probably will not stay long as I don't own a laptop and will be writing by hand (groan).
I assume that a Write In is just that, primarily devoted to writing? Sounds like I may be the only newbie so bear with me! I'll be there just to make some wrimo connections.
As for food, I'll bring quacamole and chips.
Did you catch the commentary in Tuesday's Courier? Simmons wrote about NanoWrimo, why she isn't doing it because she sees the value of editing...
Thanks for hosting.

Hey Merrus. No worries about the handwriting, it'll work lol. I'm thinking of putting together a few games 'cause just sitting and writing gets so boring.
As for that commentary: the amount of angry I am now harboring is immense. I'd do something like write back but that's too much effort when I can be pissed off right here.
Who the hell does this "Virginia Simmons" think she is? Basically she's pissed because she can't be arsed to write 50,000 and has thus decided that it is stupid and impossible so she has to argue that she's more worried about editing.
Screw. Her.

I couldn't agree with you more. Grrr
Kudos for all those out there (including us, of course) writing their little hearts out, willing to just put it out there, not having to develop the perfect manuscript.
Personally, I love the freedom of not editing!
I feel like I'm being taken for one wild ride...and know not where I'll end up.

Sorry to be late with kick off reply.
Yes I'm coming, arrival estimated at 6:30 pm. Food: snacks, something sweet, something salty and some grapes if they look good at the store on my way out of Salida. Drink: my own supply of Kava and fixings and some Lime/colas--my virgin margarita as it is known at my house. Other: food related useful stuff that is handy.
Also computer and keyboard to take up your offer little_one, with yellow pad and pencils for back up. Also sloppy notes and my little book of Keywords by Paul R. Grell for show and tell assuming there will be one. And yes, my camera. Maybe a pillow and a blanket. And eye-drops. Sorry--born and raised in Colorado and I was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years, can't help myself. Oh, I forgot, my besom too. She's still wore out from Halloween but doesn"t want to miss the fun. It means I have to drive the Jeep. It's more comfortable anyway--heated seats and CD player.
See you in a few. Ms. Cosmo

Have fun.

Wow. I wasn't expecting that. :P
I really felt awful last night. BUT I'll make it to the next one. Cross my heart. No extra work hours, no migraines. Nothin.
In fact, if anyone wants to come rag on me for not showing up, I'm at work this afternoon. (Valley Food Co-Op.)
See? I've even given out my place of employment. ;)

Got home safe and sound. An hour on the road (in elsewhere Colorado) at that time of night gave me time to think my story out of the dilemma I was in over bad mouth son. Thanks for sharing your digs little-one. Sorry I talked your ear off, obviously I need to get out more often. A little less Thomas, George, and Spongebob perhaps? I really appreciate the comradery. I'm not going to take the time to expand my contractions, but from now on they will be fewer of them!
Last night there was blood on the moon. Did not bode well. Sure enough alpha male got a phone call around 5:00am. and he was off to work. Over 40 years of this and I still get little shivers every time. Didn't take him long to fix the problem but he is still sleeping. So I put my computer back together by myself. As was mentioned last night, sometimes it's nice to have a little extra muscle around; my computer desk is heavy. A laptop is looking better by the minute.
It really was fun to get out and rub shoulders with other Nanoites. I will be on the lookout for some of those word war deals. Thanks again, little-one, and give you know who an extra hug from me.

Friday was fun but I haven't written a word since!
I do have a lot of ideas bouncing around in my head so I just need to get crackin!
Sorry we didn't have more people-next time perhaps?
But it was delightful to meet little one and Ms. Cosmo-you guys are awesome.
Thanks to our ML for hosting and keeping us motivated.
After all it's all about those words!!!
