Well, since we are in the Bryan/College Station group, and A&M is the main reason people would live here, who all attends TAMU? I am a 5th year senior majoring in Geography with a minor in GIS, and you can find me on NG on most weekends. Anyone else?

Um, there are lots of reasons to live here beyond A&M, at least to the 120k+ citizens who live here year round. Personally live here and moved here because I love the area. :-P I don't attend A&M, never have, never would. Graduated from Blinn many years ago, and I do work on campus for one of the state agencies state agency.

I'm a senior this year! Biomedical Science major, hoping to get accepted to vet school this year. Doing NaNo right before finals is really distracting and probably not the smartest thing, but it's lots of fun, so... :)

Nuke engineering Freshman.
This is my second attempt at NaNo with the same novel. I epic failed last year and trashed all that I did, but hopefully I can get something accomplished. I've wanted to try writing this story for awhile, but my own psychological obstacles just prevented it from being written.
And this may sound odd, but twinsuns, I see that you like fencing. You wouldn't happen to be part of the fencing club too, would you?
Because that would be awkward. >.>

Graduated in May with a BS in Computer Science from A&M. Found a job in College Station and been enjoying it ever since. I feel like I can throw more time into Nano this year without the worry of homework, tests, etc.

I graduated in May with a B.S. in Wildlife & Fisheries...currently working on getting into grad school in the same field. Currently unemployed (sad for me), but at least that means I might have time this year for NaNoWriMo if nothing else. I tend to hang out 'round Studio 12 when on campus.

I'm a Freshman International Studies + French major. I have done (and won) NaNo for the past three years in a row, and I'd really love to do it again, although I'm a little worried this may be the hardest year yet since I'm in college now.
Still, I'd love to give it a shot and meet up with other wrimos here in Aggieland!

Senior Psychology major/Neuroscience minor here! This year's going to be a little more difficult for me than the last, but I'm determined to make time for something I enjoy so much.
Hope to meet you/see you at a write-in or two.

I'm an Technology Management/English major (double majoring, whoo!) of 2013. Originally from San Antonio and always wanted to participate but High School and Work conspired to keep me from making a real effort (Hey guys, who else took seven AP exams!?) but hopefully, I can really do it this year. :]

Junior English major! I've had an idea for a book since this summer, just never really took the time to indulge myself. Excited about NaNoWriMo.

I'm a junior BIMS major with an English minor. This is my first attempt at NaNoWriMo, but I've written novels in the past. I'm in charge of small writing club on campus (hi there, Vaprrenon, its Kelly!) and we'll definitely be doing some write-ins. Feel free to get in touch with me once November starts if you want a group to write with!!

Haha, seven exams here too! Suuuucked, ngl.
Sophomore Animal Science (and possible Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences) major originally from Houston.
This will be my fourth year, and I hope to succeed. In past years I've gotten very close (35,000 words or so), but school and marching and work got in the way, sadly. I just dropped from 19 to 16 hours this semester, so hopefully I can balance that, work, and NaNo!
Whenever I fail, it just encourages me to try harder next time : ) haha
Phoenix511-What's your club? I've been dying to find people to write with and couldn't find anything when I searched the studentactivities site.

We're actually a sub-group of Cepheid Variable. CV is a club for sci-fi, fantasy, anime, etc. We're the writing branch of that. We meet every Thursday at 6:30, usually in Rudder 502. It's really just about half a dozen or so of us that get together to write for an hour, but its nice to have that camaraderie with other writers on campus. Here's a link to our FB group:

Interesting. I've heard of Cepheid Variable before and was intrigued about the concept of the group. I should prolly check it out since it runs along some of my interests. Apparently the writing offshoot meets on Thursdays but what about the main group itself?

Cepheid has its general meeting every Tuesday at 8:33 in Rudder 501. All of our Small Programs (Artists' and Writers' Guilds, Pleiades Cluster, D&D 101, Magic 101, etc) announce what they'll be doing for the upcoming week, AggieCon updates are given, and any general announcements ("annoyances") are made by members. Afterwards we have D-Raid (we all carpool to Double Dave's). The meeting usually lasts anywhere from a half hour to a full hour.

Ah, Cepheid Variable... Brings back a lot of good memories, as well as some frustrating ones dealing with the administration in the SPO (Student Programs Office) back when CV was in the MSC. I used to be a member, and was the graduate assistant advisor for a while. I helped run a few AggieCons in my day. We used to put out a fanzine - do they still do that? And we held a writier's conference a couple of times while I was the advisor.

Holy crud an elder! *bows*
I didn't know there even used to BE a fanzine! Sounds like it'd be a fun thing to revive for the group ^_^ We need more stories to tell at the meeting...I keep hearing the same ones over and over...and I'm SURE there has to be at least one or three stories somehow connected with said fanzine somehow!
...it's Cepheid. There's always a story.

Heh... Elder gods. Not sure I really feel like one. We did 2 or 3 fanzines when I was the advisor. All the stories and illustratons were done by CV members. I used to have some extra copies but I think I finally got rid of all the extras once in a cleaning frenzy. This was back in the early 90s. Not so long ago to me, but it might be to others. We did the writer's conference in conjunction with AggieCon and some of the regularly attending authors helped us set it up. We started it a day before the regular Con.

Hello,
I'll be an extern at TAMU for the majority of NaNo. I'm staying in an apartment, I have no idea where other than 'on the bus route' (not sure which, heh) and spending the day at the path department.
I'm working on a story that has a very shaky plot atm. Hopefully I can sort out the general idea soon.

I tried to get into A&M. Nogo. This Cephied writing sounds interesting. can non aggies attend?
I've been to several Aggiecons, mainly to buy comics.
This idea of a writer's conference in conjunction to aggiecon sounds brllliant.
Think it might fly next year?

Hey there! I'm a sophomore aerospace engineering major. I've never done nano nor written a novel before, so this should be really really interesting. Oh, and I have about 5 exams this month as well. It'll probably be a stretch, but I'm willing to put in a few hours a night to get things going. What else would I be doing anyways? I'll tell you what I'd be doing: goofing around on the internet, haha.

Hey, folks. I'm a staff member up in the Evans Annex, used to be a student but they done gave me a diploma and kicked my ass out :) I used to be a cepheid, helped out at a con or two but nothing big. Been thinking about getting back into it, but I don't want to be the creepy old chick hanging out at the tables with all the freshman. Where are the tables these days, anyway?

Hey now, don't be afraid to hang with us Cepheids! I graduated last semester, actually. No one will think you're weird at ALL, I promise! Well...they won't think you're weird for being an elder, anyway. XP
The tables is now in Studio 12 in the Common's basement. You walk int he door and we're the nuttball group at the group of couches right in front of you.
And--totally random question--the Library and/or Annex will hire non-students? I've been trying to get a job, but with no car I've been having trouble finding one I can get to...but I'm within walking distance of campus. If you know if they're hiring non-students at all, please drop me a line so I know where/who to go to talk to about it? I'd soooo owe you a favor, lol!
