This thread is where writers from Red Deer can pool resources, chat amongst themselves, and organize meetups. And to get the ball rolling, we've got a humdinger for you: the first ever All-Alberta meetup!

TIME: Sunday, November 15, 2:00PM - 5:00PM

LOCALE: Glenn's Tea Room, in Red Deer (well, technically just a little bit south of Red Deer)

ATTENDING: MLs and Wrimos from Calgary! Edmonton! Red Deer! And anyone else in the province that wants to come! It'll be a lot of fun, you'll meet a lot of wonderful people, there'll be NaNoWriMo swag handed out, and for three hours Alberta is going to make NaNoWriMo history! (Okay. Maybe that's hyperbole. But you haven't heard of an all-Ontario meetup, have you?)

So, come one and come all. We'd love to see you there!

And now, I turn this thread over to the good people of Red Deer. Enjoy!

Hopefully we have a decent turn out. Two years ago we had a gathering but not last year. :(
Though, this year I'm not participating. My brain and body can't handle it.

I am more than willing to organize something for the Red Deer area if there are people willing to come out. We can just have a general get together, a write-a-thon, or...??? I was disappointed at the lack of a get together last year and I would like this year to be different.

NaNoWriMo is about having fun and connecting with other writers...and of course, maybe getting a decent first draft out of the whole experience. Let's make this a good experience for everyone in Red Deer.

Likewise, I'll help organize something for Red Deer. We really ought to pick something central downtown like the library or maybe RDC's library, something with easy access anyways! This will be fun!

I'll try to make it to Glenn's, no promises though seeing as how I'm juggling college and work (ironically enough, at Teopia, Glenn's sworn rival.)

Sweetness, help is always welcome and I was thinking that something central is best, I was thinking that either library would be ideal. There is something about a library that just makes you want to write. Perhaps it's all those books! lol

Just giving this post a bump for two reasons:

1. I'm heading out for the weekend, so I won't be on the Internet until after I get back from Red Deer on Sunday night. Hopefully, I can see all you guys there!

2. Canoegirl, the Edmonton ML, has set up a fancy thread which is visible by all three regions simultaneously. If you're still planning to attend, I'm sure she'd really appreciate it if you RSVPed in that thread.

2a. And if you're still undecided, check that thread out anyway, and marvel at how many Edmontonians are planning to visit your fair city!

Ah, nuts. I just realised that all the Edmonton people are planning to be there at 3:00, not 2:00. Sorry for the miscommunication, everyone - I'll try to be there at 2:00, though, just in case.
