It was great to meet all of you that came out on Tuesday and forgive me it will take a while to learn everyone's names but that is okay we have a month to get to know each other better! More than likely I will remember your characters names and may call you by your lead one day!
So this thread is going to be used as to give a recap to those that were not able to make as well as some dates that have been decided on. For anyone that was at the meeting please add and chime in for anything that I might have left out!
We first introduced everyone and found out what genre they will be writing this year (planning on writing) as far as how many NaNo's that they have participated!
Our region now has a Co-ML! It is not official yet until he gets the ML powers from the Linda.
Kick off Party is going to be Thursday @ 7pm October 29th at IHOP in Turkey Creek area. I will post the address when we get closer.
Every Tuesday in November we will meet at Panera Bread on N. Peters at 7 pm-9pm for a write in. This is not required but it is a good time to compete against each other if anyone is getting behind on word count!
We are looking for a 24 hour spot, IHOP or Waffle House for a the National Day of Writing on November 22 which is a Sunday.
I am also going to be getting in touch with a few other regions that are pretty similar to our numbers and going against them on word wars and donations! I will post more on that as soon as I get a war together!
Anything else that I missed?

I wish I could have made the meeting. I have class until 6:20 on Thursdays, but hopefully I'll make the kick off party.
If anybody on campus can't get to the "official" write ins on Tuesday nights, I'll be at work in the first floor reference room in the library at work. There are tons of computers and plenty of table space, and though I have to stay at the desk and actually do my job while I write, it could still be fun!
I'm even out for the 22nd of November. I play in the UT horn ensemble and we have a performance that evening. And then I'm supposed to work.
Darn job!

Sorry I missed the planning, but I look forward to meeting some of you at the kick-off or the write-ins!

Unfortunately I'm never going to be able to do a write in or meeting during the week (school and working nights at school to pay for school is a viscous cycle). Hopefully if any of us ever do a write in on the weekend I can meet some of you then!

I think there will be things going at any given point during the week. Hopefully people will be keeping everyone updated via twitter and facebook where write ins are concerned. The forums are good as well, but I don't check them nearly as often as I do facebook, so that's looking like it'll be the best option for day to day collaboration, where the forums seem to be better suited to long term planning. Again, the link to the facebook group for Knoxwrimo is http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=298499780369&ref=mf

I don't have magic powers quite yet (They should be in in a few hours, though), but I just thought I'd drop in real quick to say that my app finally made it back to the office of letters and light this week and I'm being added to the system. . . right as I finally finish my move-in to the new apartment!
I'll be seeing you all a lot more on the forums and otherwise now, and I really, really look forward to it. . . I'll probably write more once I get my full access.

Well, I'll try to make it to the kick off. Lovell Road is pretty far away but I'd be happy to make it.
I'll be putting up fliers around the UT campus for Nano. Today is National Writing Day, apparently, and none of the people sponsoring it actually knew about Nanowrimo!
Also, as Moggot up there said (hi roomie!) I think we should have an alternative write in day every week for those who can't make weekday meetings. Anybody interested in meeting up on Saturdays? We could even go on campus for those of us here at school (not home game days, of course! We could meet on Sundays on those weekends).
We could also meet off campus, maybe the Panera's on the strip to make parking easier and so we'd have free coffee refills. :)
...
I should probably just make a thread. xD

I'm not a student but I live just off campus and I think a write-in at the Panera on the Strip would be great. The only week night I'm not available is Thursday but otherwise I'm off work at 6:30 every day and can be there easily by 7. Saturday and Sunday afternoons are also great (after, say, 2 would be best for me).
I need as much extra motivation as possible this year!!
