Hi all
This is my first ever NaNo, so be gentle with me. I've completed 3 manuscripts, so I know I can do it. It just takes me a looonnngg time (avg. 2 yrs each). I'm hoping NaNo will train me to write faster.
Being a stay at home mom, I can do write-ins on weekdays while the kids are in school. Nights and weekends are out for me. Any other NaNo SAHMs in the Midlothian area?
Lori

Hi Lori,
First off, welcome to NaNoWriMo! This will be my fourth year, I've succeeded in winning the last three years. Last year was the toughest for several reasons, but a major event was taking place, and I still found time to finish before Thanksgiving. I believe you can win this. Have Faith in yourself and your abilities. Writing anything to completion is awesome. You have done so, now time to step it up. You can do it. :D (my first novel back in the late 1980's took three years to research and two years to write it. hehe)
I'm not a SAHM, but I am mostly a SAHD, have been for over 24 years. :D
I am also a freelance photographer, so my schedule is quite flexible. If you would like to meet during the day time at say Colony Coffee or another place of your choosing, I can see about altering my days to suit that time slot. I will still be hosting the evening slots as well, unless someone else wants to host them. :D
One of my sons is in high school, so the mornings would work best since I have to go get him between 2 and 4pm any given day.
I encourage you to continue seeking out others to join you during the week days and day time hours, the more the merrier.
Write On,
SammyD

Hi Lori! I'm a sahm from Midlo, too. I'm east of Hull St. Rd. though, not Midlo proper. I'm almost always free any day of the week and really really really want to make a go of NanoWriMo this year. I met SammyD at Colony Coffee a couple Saturdays ago. It's a very comfortable place to meet. We had quite a chat and unfortunately I didn't give him much chance to write. Sorry Michael!
Saturday is iffy (technical term there) for me since the kidlet has soccer games until mid-Nov. I may be able to swing one here and there but nights are definitely out for me as well.
I'm not a nano-virgin but I didn't go all the way so.... ;o)

Colony Coffee -- is that off Coalfield? I can probably swing by there if that's a good meeting spot for everyone. Never been there myself. Do they have plenty of power outlets? My laptop lasts less than 2 hours then requires wall juice. Guess I could bring a power strip for everyone to share as long as we have one outlet to plug it into.
I can meet just about any weekday, anytime between 10 and 3. My favorite hiding place of late is the Midlothian Library. It's quiet, but there's no coffee.

Just so it's easier for people to spot me at these write-ins and such, I'm wearing a black fedora. I'm rather a jolly fellow, and will always have a large laptop in front of me. I don't think it can be more than a few feet away from me, it has separation anxiety. sigh... hehe
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the write-ins. This is going to be an awesome year!

I live in Richmond, but just outside of Midlothian. My husband works in that area and I have family there as well, so it's an area I feel comfortable with. I've only lived in Richmond for a year, so I'm still getting used to it. I've been a NaNo member since 2007, but I've never really participated- mostly just a lurker. I am determined to change that this year. I work part-time on the weekends, and days work best for me as well.

This will be my 3rd year writing and I have not yet been to the kick-off party or to a write-in, this year I would like to get more involved. I am off on Fridays, so if anyone can meet on Friday morning or afternoon I will be happy to join.

Hi Lori-
I'm a newbie to NaNoWriMo, too, and I live in Midlothian. I work, but am off on Thursdays. I imagine I will be in desperate need of meeting up with someone (or lots of someones) on Thursdays during November to keep me in check! I'm in Woodlake, but am all over the Midlo/ Richmond/ Chesterfield area. Let me know if you're setting something up during the daytime.
Are you attending the kick-off party on Nov. 1?

I'm sure we could set Thursdays aside as one of our write-in days to meet. Thursday afternoons are better than mornings for me, but I can make an AM meet-up if that's what it needs to be for the majority. Sounds like Colony Coffee is close to you too. I think FBattle was only available on Fridays, so that could be one of our meet-up days too, maybe at a different location to change things around. How about Panera Bread on the corner of Courthouse and Midlothian?

Hey gang, Southside here too. I work near that Southside Panera and live near the Colony Coffee so either might work for me (when possible with family and work needs). I always bring a wall adapter for extra spots for us tied to laptops with crap batteries. :)

I live in the Chesterfield County courthouse area. I've done NaNoWritMo before, except last year, and that's because I was working on a nonfiction book that just came put this past May. I plan to use this one to do a sequel to an erotic urban fantasy book I have out.
Not sure if I can make a lot of meetings, but plan to be at the Kick off party the 1st.

Hi Everyone,
Southsider and NaNoWriMo first timer as well. I live over near the Arboretum. I'm not stay-at-home and I'm not a mom, but I do have a couple of hours on Mondays free.
I'm coming back to writing after a 25 year hiatus and at that, it was mostly by accident. For those of you going to the Kick-Off party, I hope to see you there!

Hi Lori,
I'm a SAHM in Midlo too. I work part-time, but I'm pretty sure that still counts. I have written 2 and 1/2 novels, but have never done NaNo. I am excited and also wondering when I will write, but I will write! I just have to stop putting everything else ahead of my writing. I have a friend who is doing this too. I am hoping she will help keep me focused. I am happy to help keep you focused if I can. Best, Tonya

Not going to make the Kick Off Party tonight and since the kids are out of school Monday and Tuesday, I won't be able to make any write-ins until the end of the week. I'm open for Wed, Thurs, or Friday this week. And if it keeps raining like this and the kids are trapped in the house with me, I'm going to desperately need some serious writing time by then. Doubt my word count is going to be very high for the next 3 days. *sigh*

Hello, Lori!
Nice to meet you--this is my fourth year doing NaNo.
It seems our MLs are favoring a spot called Colony Coffee--previously mentioned ^_~ for write-ins. So, if we're lucky, we can get together there for some "official" things.
Regrettably, I was unable to attend the Kick-Off. I was very sick that day and spent most of it sleeping.
