This is a teens-eyes-only thread, so if you're any older than 19, take your listening devices elsewhere. You can start your own thread. You can call it "The thread for people who still like the old James Bond movies"
This is where we teens talk about plots, secret maps, and ninjas; commiserate over wordcount, two-dimensional characters, and overprotective parents; seek comfort, criticism, and metaphorical coffee; and join together in one unstoppable word-frenzied force that the old folks wouldn't dare try to take down.
50,000 or bust. It's them or us, agents, and out of personal experience, I prefer to be in the purple by the end of November. That means a little hard work, a lot of inspirations and whims, and a lot of coffee.
Are you ready for this? 'Cuz I am.
This message will self-destruct.

I just wanted to slip into the safe house for a moment to say that we're glad to have young people noveling in our region. Teens are welcome at our KOs & write-ins. If your parents are uncertain, tell them to contact me for any questions or concerns. I know where they're coming from.
Now, if I only knew where I'm going--how to I get back out? I can't re-find the secret door...

Glad to see I'm not the only insane high schooler here. I might actually be able to make it to a couple write-ins this year too, once I get my license halfway through the month.
So anyone else trying to get extra credit from this? I'm trying to convince my English teacher it's worth a few.

That blasted scallywag.. I'll get him eventually..
After I get over nineteen, perhaps.
I'm in homeschooling, too, and I totally convinced my teacher last year that writing a book was worth some *major* extra credit points. Sadly.. I didn't finish NaNo last year. But eets the bloomin' point that matters, right?

...land. *nods sagely*
In reality, I'm still deciding. It's a toss-up between a sequel to last year's book and an entirely new one. The sequel I really really like, and is not outlined. The other one I like all right and IS outlined. The sequel is set in Medieval England and would require quite a bit of research. The other one is set in the future and would not. The sequel I'm a bit worried about writing in a month, because I want it to be good. The other one I'm less worried about.
...my head and my heart are disagreeing.

I'm also pondering on what to do. I've been working on this fantasy world for a long time, and I think it'd be really cool, just not sure which era I should do it in. I've tried writing for the world before, but sometimes it just comes off as...horribly cheesy and cliche. Still...it can be really cool and amazing if I could just shove past that. <_<

I'm probably just winging my Nano novel again this year.. all the planning I've sat down and tried to do so far has only succeeded in frustrating me quite a bit.
I'll probably end up writing something more Fantasy-themed, though, probably involving some form of global destruction.
Maybe a set of short stories (short as in 5-15k-ish each) that all have a common theme of completely improbable (but explained in a way that it didn't seem so improbable) ways the planet was destroyed... you know, that actually might be a good idea... and then, I could... yeah, that just might....
/rambling
I'm off to jot down a couple ideas, at the very least this could end up as an interesting project to work on later, since I'm not sure if I'd want to have a bunch of short stories as my "novel"...

Hey, I'm fourteen, and am rewriting my "baby" for the fourth time. I've had this series in my head since I was seven, but can't seem to get t down.

I've changed my plot idea about 3 times in the last month. I'd had this awesome idea festering since June that I swore I was gonna do. Then come mid-September, another plot pushed that one out and insisted that it was better and would produce a much better novel. Torn between the two ideas, I struck a compromise with both and decided to combine them.
The result is a modern-day story set on a ranch in Montana. We'll just have to wait to find out exactly what happens.

"Yeah, I changed it to something non-teens will never guess."
"What?"
"Movie titles."
Anyway, I will most likely write a sequel to A Christmas Carol. It sounds hard, but Dickens wrote the book in six weeks' time. I figger I can get a rough draft in four, no problem.
Does anybody have a good character or two? If so, can I borrow them?

Anyway.
Lady Nai: Ah, well, perhaps I can give Much a small cameo (if he's not being too much of a baby).
simply: The characters I need most are very minor ones, who are always the most interesting and versatile, anyway. Most anybody could be modified to fit the occasion.

"Hey, wake up! We're just getting started."
"Yes, Boss. Whatever you say, Boss."
"And take those earplugs out."
That goes for everyone! It's not the end of anything, excepting October.
Don't let Lady Nai be the only one introducing her favorite characters. Open up those character closets, bring out your dead! (For me, that's literal.) Can we see Ebenezer Scrooge talking with a vampire? Robin Hood with an alien hunter from the twenty-fifth century? You bet!
So, here are my additions to the character coffee shop:
Enter Jacob Marley and Ebenezer Scrooge, both dead.
Ebenezer Scrooge is an amiable spirit, who delights in pleasing, and vise versa. Since he lived in the nineteenth century, he's a little shorter than today's average height, so he stands on any convenient stair or curb to look you in the eye. When he thinks, he puts his hands deep in his pockets, and wrinkles the familiar lines in his brow.
Jacob Marley limits his smiles to the crafty side, but those come often enough to make up for it. He solves the height problem simply by floating a good six inches off the ground, where he can comfortably criticize you through his spectacles. He and Scrooge jest at each other often, but any real argument between them is short and to the point, as they used to before Marley died.
Scrooge and Marley pull out their pocketwatches unanimously. "Where is everybody?" says Marley, annoyed at this lack of punctuality.
Indeed, where is everyone?

Hmm, an RP-ish thing opposed to a character lounge. Character lounges (mostly dialogue, with a few *action* things) are easier for me to come up without taxing my writing creativity....I'll try to think of something and who and what...

Lilila, an old vampire who looks 6 and has a God Complex enters, her eyes a bright blue like the sky{due to contacts she has to change every 3 or so hours}, along with her Elf Slave{butler?}, Kierian. The two have known each other almost Lilila's whole life. The elf stands at 7-8 feet tall and has very pointy ears. His black wavy hair is mostly up-done, but straggles of waves have come undone, partially hiding his ears. His eyes are a hazy purple.
Isabeau and Phreaq{pronounces "Freak"} also enter, arms locked together. Vampire twins-- they both have bleach-white skin and dark raven colored hair and the same red eyes. Isabeau wears a red miniskirt, a white button up shirt and carries a black jacket on her finger over her shoulder. She is also a Pyromaniac and has a thing for setting her hand on fire.
Phreaq wears baggy black pants and a semi-form-fitting plain black T-shirt, and is holding an expensive looking camera. Izzy's hair is mostly straight, with a curl near the bottom and goes to the small of her back. It is very full and soft-looking and has an appealing shine to it. Phreaq's hair is also mostly straight in the same fashion, however is cut along her chin line and looks more profession.
They both have crimson red eyes only Izzy's seem to appear sharp and piercing whereas Phreaq's are more soft and caring.
Damien and Amyas also walk in. Damien is Isabeau's boyfriend and a demon. The very definition of juvenile delinquent, only punky. He has one small hoop earring, short, spiked hair, wears a leather jacket, blue jeans and a plain white shirt that shows off his muscle. He is a Kleptomaniac. He is also dirt poor, although super-smart. His eyes are amber-colored.
Amyas is a werewolf and is mad in love with Phreaq, but is too shy to tell her. Usually dressing up in a nice expensive-looking suit with a rose in hand, he mumbles to himself alot. He is a perfect gentleman and a dreamer. His eyes are also amber-colored.
They all look around awkwardly at first, before Izzy pulls out a lighter and starts to play with it and a piece of paper, Phreaq starts taking pictures of it like none-other, Damien watches the two, Lilila rolls her eyes and stands there, as does Kierian, and Amyas looks at the rose and mumbles sadly to himself.
