Hello Wrimos in Newcastle and Beyond!
Oh, so spacey - next I'll be blathering about our infinite word counts next month!
I wish.
Anyway, this wasn't supposed to be some defeatist nonsense. There's been some interest in the forums for a pre-November meet up, and if you got (and read) our last email, then you'll know it's something we're up for as well.
We thought it'd be good to have a friendly and relaxed meet-up upstairs in Café Nero near the Gates in Newcastle. We've used this coffee shop quite a bit in recent years, and the staff have never complained about the number of people sitting around with laptops and not buying much at all. So from 2 PM on Saturday 24th October, we invite you to join us for plot-planning, socialising and coffee!
We'll be there for a good few hours, so if you can't make it for 2 PM, don't worry - just show up when you can. We're a friendly group, so even if you've never been to one of these before, don't be afraid to show up. Meeting other novelists is one of the best bits of NaNo, so don't miss out on it. Of course, it isn't the end of the world if you can't attend, and we'll be holding lots of other events very soon, so don't panic!
If anyone has any problems getting there or finding the place, you can call either of us on 07874 097262 (Nixx/FaeNixx) or 07845 316556 (Zof/ShadowSaine), and we'll see what we can do. This link - http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=NE1+5PF&countryCode=GB - should also point you in the right direction!
To Summarise:
What: Pre-NaNo meet-up.
Where: Café Nero, near The Gates, Newcastle
When: Saturday 24th October, from 2 PM
Problems?: Call Zof (07845 316556) or Nixx (07874 097262)
Happy NaNo-ing.
Nixx and Zof
FaeNixx and ShadowSaine
PS. If you recognise this post, that's probably because you've received it in an email. If not -- welcome, newcomer! Consider yourself most warmly invited into this madness. :D

Shouldn't we include physical descriptions so we know who we're looking for? (My "ASPIRING WRITER" forhead sticker hasn't arrived yet)
I have a photo here, but I am a lanky ginger with long hair and a love of red lipstick.
Even if we decide they aren't necessary, self-description is fun!

We'll have table tents (those little folded triangle things) and hopefully some posters around where we're sitting, which will hopefully be pretty obvious! Good point on the description, though - thanks!

Yeah I got the email. Put me on the Going to try to attend but depends on how much Uni work I have got on list (You can can also put me on the creates overly long titled lists list if you want).
I Have this years NaNoWriMo T-Shirt (Cranberry) and the new snazzy Hoodie so I should stand out like a sore thumb, or at least a slightly bruised one.

Café Nero is located on Clayton Street opposite the Gates, the postcode is NE1 5PF, and there's a link to a multimap page in the original post.
Multimap provides directions if you're walking.
If you get lost or have any other problems, ring me on 07874 097262 or my co-ML on 07845 316556.

Thank you :)
I don't tend to use internet maps. I like real ones with lots of pages, it sticks in my mind a little easier, and I can look at them whilst I am walking as well :)

Hi all,
Hope you all had a great time today. I did not manage to make it along due to being ill and did not want to pass on any germs before the WriMo starts... But then I would have had an advantage.. lol.
Hopefully will be better for the next meet up. Just over a week to go!
Peter
