I live about a half-hour from Murray, but I'd be totally ecstatic to do a write-in, three other friends of mine are also up for it.

Actually, McCracken, Ballard, Carlisle, Hickman, Fulton, Graves, Marshal, and Calloway county have their own region in NaNo this fall (Kentucky :: Purchase Area) and write-ins are in the process of being planned with the help of two student organizations at MSU. There will certainly be a kickoff party in Murray, plus write-ins at least once a week. You may also be able to attend write-ins in Paducah, but that's still up in the air at this point (expect confirmation within a week to a week and a half).
Be sure to join the Purchase Area region to get updates on local NaNo goodness!

Thanks, UserExec, i'm on my way to joining that region now! Glad we have a separate region now, "Kentucky::Elsewhere" covered way too much ground.
