We will be meeting at Wildermuth Library on Lake Street in Gary from 5:30-7:30 beginning Monday Oct. 26. If I can get an idea in advance as far as attendance, we can try to start with caffeine and sugar (coffee & cookies). This will naturally be a pencil-sharpening, outline working meeting.
We'll be continuing after NaNo, but anyone wanting local support will be welcome. The branch has wi-fi now, tho it's still being tweaked, so you can bring laptops/netbooks/alphasmarts/ipods/blackberries and get your netfix or update your word count .
Anyone interested in details or directions can email me thru nano or post here.
Look forward to seeing some of you soon!

Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed. - G.K. Chesterton

Just so folks know: The "Highland Writers Group" meets at the Merrillville Borders every Saturday at 3:30 PM. Several of the members there have been published - the latest being Mike Poore who is in this month's "Asimov" magazine. They have also published an anthology of member works (many years ago and yours-truly was a contributor).
This group started off at the Highland Border's (hence, the name) but is looking for a new location closer to the Indiana/Illinois border (preferably a coffee shop as many of the members are "caff-fiends". If you'd like to attend and get critiques of your work, bring 10 copies of no more than 10 pages of a short story/novel or some of your poetry and feel free to join in. They're a friendly bunch and not prone to eating newbies alive... they like them slow-roasted.
You can find them on My Space... www.myspace.com/highlandwritersgroup
There are also two other groups in the area - Write On Hoosiers and Writers Expressions (the latter of which meets at the Merrillville Borders as well - on Wednesday nights, I believe).
See you all on November 1
