Use this thread to post your whereabouts (be as specific or vague as you like). Feel free to also post any recommendations you have for meet-ups.
The purpose of this thread is to help enable meet-ups between participants as well as give me an idea at this years make-up (it changes every year). I can't guarantee that a meet-up will be held in your area, so feel free to organize your own. If you do arrange a meet-up and can give me notice I will add it to the calendar and the weekly email so that the word gets out.

Hey! I am in Marion in Wayne County. I'm car-less this year until I get a car, get a ride, or my boyfriend has time and wants to come to a write-in with me. XP I live about 2 minutes from the rt21/104 intersection, so if anyone is out this way and is planning on going to a write-in and would like to carpool let me know. I can help pay for gas, if anyone likes to drive and is just feeling generous enough to come all the way out to pick me up. ;)

Hey everyone:)
I'm in the South Wedge, so anywhere in Rochester or surrounding suburbs is fairly convenient.
I just have to stop being shy long enough to actually make it to a meet-up! :x

I'm near NOTA, so anywhere is good for me - have car, will drive. I'm oncall a lot, so don't know how many meet-ups I'll be able to attend, but looking forward to it all!

I'm at RIT, just down the road, actually. So really anwhere is good. As long as I'm not at work or slowly dying under the school load. I'm a little masochistic, I'm not going to lie. 6 classes and a 50 hour workweek? who thought that was a good idea?

Hey Everyone!
I say that we try the meet up again at Jitter's Cafe. Panera Bread would also be a good place.
I like the idea of Word Wars to Write-Ins to help with word count...
I see there are some RIT people participating.
I graduated from there in 04 and still live near the area in Henrietta.
We used Jitter's as our "home base" last year every Tuesday during and even after the competition just for coffee and chat.
I will say that I will be at Jitter's Tuesday evening around 730ish...
Does that work for people around the area?

I am living car-free in Southwedge. Unless an event is held in Southwedge I am out of luck with getting there. I am fairly shy myself, so I am not sure how likely I would show up to many events. I am new to Rochester, moved here in August. I don't know much about the area. I look forward to chatting with you all on this forum some. =)

I'm in Penfield not to far from Webster, I'm also in the car-less situation and will have to bum rides for write-ins. Depending on where/when I might be able to take the bus - though transferring downtown isn't fun in the cold weather. I do want to try and make at least one write-in this year. I lack a laptop, but it would be fun to meet up with other writers.
For places: Fairport Village cafe (used to be village coffee) is fun for people out in that area (I just moved from the Fairport area), Spot coffee downtown is nice, and various Barnes and Nobels are good to.

Hey all. Sorry I'm replying a bit late - I've been busy trying to cram as much work as possible into this month because we all know that none of us will be functioning at 100% come November!
As far as the meet-ups go, I'd love to attend but I just had some surgery that has left me fairly immobile - so getting out to Henrietta will be difficult. I live near Lake Ontario, by the way.
Anyways, good to "meet" you all and I hope we can represent Rochester well this month!

Hello Fellow NaNo Writers!l
How is everyone's "novel ideas" shaping up :)
Just a reminder that there are a few of us who will be meeting tomorrow night again at Jitter's Cafe in the Southtown Plaza in Henrietta from 7:30ish - 9:00ish. This is a great meeting location that is central to a lot of locals in the Pittsford, Henrietta, Rush, Brighton, RIT, UofR, South Wedge and surrounding areas...

Come on out and join us as we start to discuss our creative ideas, do some writing exercises, and grab some good coffee/food!
Look for the sign that says, "50,000 Words or Bust" on the table to know where we're at!
Look forward to seeing more NaNo'ers out!

Hello everyone!
I am personally a fan of the Fairport idea, since I live in Fairport!! But I also work in West Henrietta and in Webster, and I go to school at MCC; so I'm all over the place, really, and open to meeting just about anywhere. (I may not be able to make many get-togethers, since I have a crazy life, working two jobs and school...I don't have a whole lot of spare hours. And I'm crazy for signing up for Nano, but--I haven't given it a shot in like 5 years, so I figured it was time, craziness or no!)

I graduated from RIT in '07 and my boyfriend and I are both doing it this year- I don't have a car, but he does, so it depends on his schedule and whether or not I could go.. I can get a ride from someone probably if it isn't too far- I love the idea of Jitters and Panera- great places to write... I need to find a decent laptop to use... I had one, but it's on the fritz right now, and i loooove writing by computer, but as I only have a desktop at the moment it kinda limits my options. I live over by MCC, so anywhere in teh Brighton/Henrietta area is awesome... Rustic Village, if anyone knows it.

I'm in Webster, and it seems there are a fair number of you who either live or work at least close to Webster. Barnes and Noble would be good, maybe Panera, we have Starbucks, and the library (although I think they close by 9pm). I'm open to suggestions, and much more likely to make meet-ups if they are close (within 15 min) of my house.

My wife who is in NaNoWriMo as well and I are starting a writing group in Newark at the library in town. It's Thursdays at 4 pm in the community room downstairs. If you're interested, stop on by. We'd love to have any writers no matter what you're writing.

Hello :)
Yes, there should be people there. I was unable to make it last week. I said I'd be there and then something came up at my work and kept me late :( Darn work gets in the way ;) I know that Kevin has been there weekly since the beginning of the month and he said there were 3 others last week who showed up. So, I imagine there will be more people gathering the closer we get to the start of Nov. Last year we started just as early with our gatherings and went well into spring to work together on continuing our novels :) Look for us this week. Ask around in Jitter's if you can't find us. We should be recognizable however :)

I'm in Webster, close to the entrances/exits to the 104.
You know....I was thinking about it, and since Wegmans is open 24 hours, I wonder if we could ever hold a meet-up/write-in there? I know the Wegmans on the corner of Bay/Empire has that seating area/food court, snacks and drinks are abound! I suggest Wegmans, because I'm one of those nocturnal people who's not really awake until 10pm, until I start getting sleepy around 9/10 am... A lot of places wind up closing around the time I'm just starting to wake up, which makes me sad :( Are there any other night owls with me out there? :)
