Anyone from around JC, Etown, or any other close part of the tri-cities and want to organize some write ins or get togethers?

I'm in Bristol. I think a write in would be a grand idea!

I'm in the Elizabethton area, and a get together or write-in sounds like a fabulous idea :)

I am in Johnson City and would be up for a write-in; just let me know what's up.

I am in Jonesborough and looking forward to this extreme finger-wringing experience.

Looks like there are at least a half dozen of us in the Tri-Cities area-cool! Now, is anyone interested in organizing a get together towards the beginning of November? hanjiookami, you started the thread, do you want to set something up - anyone? I'd be glad to help. It looks like perhaps Johnson City might be the most central location, since there are people from Jonesborough, Bristol, JC and Elizabethton. My daughter and I are both writing this year, and she is in Elizabethton as well, I am sure she'd be up to a write in.

Well, where in Johnson City should we meet? Books-a-Million? Barnes and Noble? Panera? Any other suggestions? And when? I can't do Sundays, but right now it looks like I'd be able to do any other day. Tuesdays and Saturdays any time, and the rest of the week probably after four.

Late to the party here, but anyway, I used to live in Kingsport, but had to move, although I still have close ties to the area. I'd love to come party with you guys, since Eastern Kentucky doesn't seem to be offering much in the way of Nano activities. Also, I'd recommend Barnes and Noble for the meet and greet. I attend a writer's meeting there once a month, and they are very accommodating to large groups (much more so than Books a Million, I've noticed) so that's my two cents, lol.

In any case, good luck to everyone this year!

I'm in Johnson City as well. :) Would love some get-togethers. Tuesdays or Thursdays after 4 in Barnes and Noble would work for me. I'm pretty tied up all the other days. @___@

I'm cool with Barnes and Noble (they have coffee and wifi, what else could one need ;) anytime in the late afternoon or early evening. My schedule is pretty flexible as to days, so if Tuesday or Thursday is best for others, that works great for me.

Also Johnson City, on East TN State campus! ...Thus I probably won't be making it to any write-ins with you all, balancing school schedule & what not but just wanted to represent. Good luck to everyone!

Well, since November's really coming up, let's throw some ideas around for our first get together. :)

Tuesday, the 3rd sound good? Preferably around 4:30 or later?

(Oh, and I'm from ETSU too! :) Glad there's another doing NaNo. ^_^)

Okay, so it seems we have a general consensus. Tuesday at 4:30 in Barnes and Noble in Johnson City. =D

I'm supposing we'll be sitting in the cafe area, since that has the most seating. Anyone have any ideas as to how to identify each other?

I'm so excited! I've never actually been to a write in before.

For ease of identification, I'll be wearing last year's NaNo shirt.

My son and I are both writing this year. We're in Elizabethton, and we'd definitely be interested in a get together!

Glad to see everyone took the ball and ran with it when RL slapped me in the face :)

So the 3rd at Barns and Noble at about 4:30 in JC is what we're thinking fer now? Sounds cool :D

This is Kim29435's daughter, Tuesday after 4 will work for me, I should be out of school by then! Love the idea, can't wait to see you all there. Juggling this book plus school shall be trivial, but how do you know if you don't try!

I have wrestling practice until 6:00 but can be at Barnes and Noble by 6:30. Will anyone still be there?

Hey, how's it going out there? I have made the half-way point and my fingers hurt!!!

I missed the group get together because I take a class at ETSU on Tuesday evenings. Did anyone show up? Is there any plans to have another?
