I'm in the Piedmont/Jacksonville area and was wondering if anyone else is in this neck of the woods who would like to try and get a group together for a write-in at some point?

Or maybe just for coffee and some brain storming?

Anniston/Oxford and Centre or other surrounding areas are more than welcome to respond as well.

I would be willing to head out there (has no idea where 'out there' is but will try her hardest). Cait knows where Jacksonville is, and she would be up for the driving part if you do schedule one.

It's always cool to see people actually reading and writing in the smaller towns around here. XD
Coffee and brainstorming is awesome, but I would love to have a write-in.

Would you be up for coming to a write-in in the Guntersville area if we held one?

Guntersville is a bit of a trip - but I could try and swing at least one.

Maybe we could try for one in the middle and see if we can get anyone from the Gadsden area?

I know that the mall there has a Books-a-Million, though I've never been.

This is only my second NaNo as an Alabamian ;) I'm originally from NJ and haven't learned all the knooks of this state yet.

We should definitely try for something though.

Java Jolt in Jacksonville is wonderful, if we ever decide to plan one in Jax!

(just putting in my two cents)

Java Jolt is awesome (OMG they have the BEST smoothies -- and Coffee).

So if you all are up for heading into J'ville I'm all up for trying to get a few others to join us. And I'll check their hours as the last time I was there they closed fairly early, but was still opened later than the Solid Rock in Piedmont.

Cait and I are up for it! (and you two have one-upped me, I have no clue what Java Jolt is...)
Okay, but we have classes on Mon, Tues, and Thurs, so if we can pick another day, that would be great.

(And to digress a bit, the BAM in the Gadsden mall isn't bad from what I remember)

I have a pretty heavy work week so basically Monday-Thursday would be out for me. Friday evenings, Sat or Sunday afternoons would be best.

I'll check out their hours and let you know.

:-)

Those days all sound good to me. :)
I'll be busy on the 21st, so no go then, but I'm free all other days.

(Thanks for getting the hours and stuff for us!)

Well, for me, with my schedule, weekends are about all that I can manage.

I work for a Medical Practice and our hours are long and often unpredictable, so Monday-Thursday is virtually totally out for me. Though if we want to be available to one another online - I can definitely swing that as I will most likely be on working on my outline/writing and I generally have my Instant Messenger open.

But we should be able to swing a kickoff for next weekend and then at least 1-2 write-ins during the month.

Medical Practice? Are you willing to give me some tips on parts of my story?
I generally run MSN messenger most of the time I'm online, and it's always funner to write 'with' someone because you can feed off of them. (gees, we're parasites now?)

So by 'next weekend' is that Halloween weekend, or Nov. 7th? Or something completely different?

By next weekend I meant Halloween.

On MSN I'm abydosorphan@hotmail.com and once I get home tonight I should be on and will be for most of the weekend (this does not guarantee that I'll always be THERE, but I will respond once I am).

Now this first meeting will be a 'kick-off' get to know each other and chat about our stories, writing, etc. But I do plan to have a few write-ins once we get started. Hopefuly, it will help us all stay motivated and in gear ;)

Awesomes. I will definantly try and be there.

More motivation can never go awry, I agree.
I'm also up for more write-ins when we can get them. (Needs all the time she can get)

I've announced it on the other forums, but just in case....

We set up a 'kick-off' meeting for Saturday, October 31st @ 1PM at the JavaJolt in J'ville.

I hope to see you there and have a few other people who have already said they would be coming. If you know of anyone else who may be interested please let them know and invite them!

The more the merrier!

Piedmont McDonalds Meet-up for Friday?

I figure the McDonalds will be easier for everyone to fins as it's on the main drag of 278. If we decide it doesn't meet our needs, we can always move to the coffee shop.

I'll be working for a bit, but should be able to get out of the office by 12-12:30. Is 1pm good for everyone?

1 pm is fine for us. Cait and I will be be coming (as always). I can't wait to have another write-in. The atmosphere just makes it so much nicer to write in, so I tend to double my normal word count.
