Hello Busanites. :D
My name is Maggie, and I am new to Korea--this being quite close to my one month mark--and a 4 time Wrimo, with 3 wins. I haven't participated the last two years, though, because of a particularly crazy life at Uni, but this year I am SO excited to begin... and really excited to meet people in Korea who love to write.
I live in Daejeon, which is smack dab in the middle of Seoul and Busan on the KTX line--so I went ahead and joined both groups. I am itching to come to Busan, so I thought maybe you could embrace me into your ranks occasionally, and if you are ever interested in coming to Daejeon, we could have a writing bonanza.
Anyway, I am planning to write a disutopian urban fantasy, based widely on a weird Korean/Nigerian culture clash that is bound to make some REALLY weird images. Does Korea inspire your novels this year? How and why?

Hi Maggie... welcome to Korea... looks like you're jumping in with both feet! Of course, you are more than welcome to come and join us anytime you wish. Busan's area right now looks a little small, as we have a number of outlying cities such as Daegu, Jeju, etc, also joining us, and I don't expect to see them at the weekly write ins :) However, you might wish to join us for the Kick Off Party, as that's a weekend, or the Thanksgiving Write-A-Thon which will also be over the weekend as we don't actually get Thanksgiving off! The TGIO party is still up in the air, and also in the works is a possible Korea-wide writing retreat, so keep your eyes open, I'll be posting the Busan calendar soon!

Just realized I didn't really answer your question. Korea hasn't done too much in the way of inspiring my novel this year, but in the sequel, the characters will travel to Korea (briefly) as well as many other destinations around the world.
