Hello out there. Does anyone have, or knows anyone who might have, a manual typewriter they're willing to sell? It has to be manual - like the old Royals - and preferably portable. I figured someone somewhere in town might have one collecting dust or evening out a wonky table table. Thanks.

i don't have one, but there is that place on quadra (at quadra and hillside), in between san remo's and that asian import furniture place, and they fix and sell typewriters... maybe they have one for cheap?

Make sure you can get ribbons for it.

The place in question is called "Type 'N Write", and although they do have many more electrics than manuals, they do have a small selection of standards (rather than portables). Jes is the fellow there who makes them go, and you can pick up fresh ribbons for just $5.60. It's worth a visit if you're into that sort of thing.
And if anyone out there wants to buy me a "congrats for winning Nano 09" present, I like the Remington 12 they have there...
