Just wondering if there are any others from the isle here! I hold no hope of events and write-ins because I imagine any on the island would be most likely to occur in the Sydney area (I'm at the Causeway), but it would still be nice to hook up, digitally speaking, with other islanders! :D

I'm from Cape Breton...Sydney to be exact. I just checked out the blog version of your novel writing journey...it's great that you're already getting a start on the planning and what not...very inspiring actually. Also, thanks for posting a link to the character questionnaire...I wouldn't have even considered looking for something like that, but I know it's going to help me a lot.

Caper! *gloms on to you like a barnacle* lol

I'm originally from Sydney Mines, so we're pretty close in spirit! :D

Thanks for checking out my blog and you're very welcome for the character questionnaire! I found it when searching for "things you should know about your character" and it's been coming in handy so far! My characters seem like much more real people now. ^_^

Oh yes, there are more of us, and they should be starting to check in any time now!

Hello all, I'm your friendly ML! We do try and have some meetups over the course of the month but it's true, they usually take place in Sydney. But how about we try and have some virtual write-ins and meetups this year? ML'ing in CB is challenging geographically, but I hope I'll be able to help us all feel connected. Feel free to voice any ideas here!

So, here's how to find me outside this site:
MSN -- sfwriter@msn.com
Twitter -- sdramsey
Yahoo -- scriptzine

If you can't track me down, there's something wrong. ;)

Anyone want to tell us about what you'll be writing this year?

Sherry

Hi CBers! I'm here, I'm here!
Nancy from North Sydney, back for her EIGHTH YEAR! Wow.

For any newcomers, there is a wealth of Nano experience in Cape Breton, AND our WINNER rate is excellent!

If you run into trouble during the month, come here and tell us. We'll try to help (though we can't write it for you. Not that we wouldn't want to, but we're too busy doing our own) ;-)

cheers,
n

Hi! I'm from Sydney, this is my first year attempting NaNo... I'm excited and mildly terrified!

I am from Sydney and this is my first year too. I am really enjoying it, I needed a push to start writing.

Hi! One more from just outside Sydney. I don't normally write fiction, but I had a character kicking around that seemed to have something to say, and apparently I felt like joining the madness.

I'll come to write-ins!

Oh, how wonderful!

I'm in Sydney Mines and usually have no hope of meeting other Capers when I join forums! I'm looking forward to this! (though, the idea of joining Nanorimo just hit me in the middle of the night tonight and I have no idea how/if I'll manage to be able to write 50 000 words with the crazy schedule that I'm keeping and other obligations. I'll give it my best, though!!

Born in Sydney, lived in Glace Bay for a bit. Now in sunny (ish) Sydney Australia. Still miss the place though...

Hello Mama! :)

I'm also in Sydney Mines, and I thought I knew all the writers around these parts :) Always happy to meet a new one, though!

The first year I did NaNoWriMo, I had a one-year-old and a five-year-old who had just started school. This year they are 15 and 9 and both writing their own stories, I have a slipped disc (happened on Friday) and I'm writing with voice recognition software because I can't sit up to type. The point being that it's not always easy, but it's certainly fun to try!

Good luck and maybe we'll get to meet up over the course of the month!

cheers,
Sherry
