Since we lack an ML we need to plan a kickoff night write in. If memory serves last year we were able to reserve a room at Denny's (the whole ML drama kept me from bothering) with the requirement of a minimum order. I'd like to offer this as suggestion one. Also, since I tried to be ML and was turned down (they prefer prior winner) I'm offering to organize (including contacting a place a reserving us space and so on) our kickoff night. |

Hey, that sounds great! I've shied away from doing Nano with others here for the past few years (no transportation in 06, didn't participate in 07, and the whole ML nonsense in 08), but REALLY want to this year. I'd really appreciate if you and Creative would get together and try to organize events. I think it sucks that they wouldn't let you, but oh well. Seriously, a ML who hasn't won is better than no ML at all...

I'd probably say no, unless they gave us some kind of deal, as Denny's tends to be ridiculously overpriced unless you get the grand slam, and the drink sare insane. $2 for a cup of coffee, $4 for a fruit drink. If I remember from last year, they would give us a room if we all agreed to buy something from the menu or paid X each? Would also depends on the time, as it is a work night.

I've got to be out of town on the weekend of Oct 31/Nov 1st, so I wouldn't be available for anything then. I'm taking my trusty little netbook with me, though, so I can get started on those 50,000 words right away. My goal is 1700-1800 words a day so I hope to get finished a little bit before the deadline. I probably shouldn't say that, though -- I'll jinx myself! LOL!
