Wow! I'm really surprised there isn't a Fresno region, what with regions for Stockton and Bakersfield and Modesto and all. I think you guys are the second largest city in the valley after us.

Good luck at finding folks, as I know it makes life easier to know you're not alone.

This is my first attempt at NaNoWriMo and I'm excited! I don't know if we have an ML or not. If you're out there I'm curious if there are any events planned at all for the Fresno area.

There doesn't appear to be an ML for the Central Valley region. However, you guys are more than welcome to hang with us in the Sacramento region.

Hey everyone! Nice to see some activity in the Fresno area. For the newbies: we didn't have a ML last year either (I'm not sure about years past), we just set up write-ins on our own using this forum.

Good luck with planning everyone! Let's make sure to keep in touch when November starts!

I'm a Fresno State student, actually in class right now. My professor just said "Never take your honey where you make your money." I'm not sure how to feel about that.

This is my first year as well, I even made a friend of mine sign up with me. I'm not a State student, but I am an FCC student. This will be an interesting month for me, hopefully school doesn't get too in the way of my writing.

This is my second year and I'm in Chowchilla. I wonder how many of us are here north of Fresno. Is there any chance we can find a place to get together a little north of Fresno? I'd love to do a kick off one night this week, but really don't want to have to drive all the way to downtown Fresno. I don't mind doing the footwork to find somewhere if there is any interest for North Fresno or even North of Fresno.

Hey, I'm a Fresnan, and I was wondering if we're doing a kick-off, or are there *pouts* too few people interested?

Hey SlytherinFox, if you haven't already found it, go to the main Central Valley region forum, there you'll find a post called "write-ins" we are planning a kick-off for this coming Wednesday. You can find the details there. Hope to see you on Wednesday!

Hello all, I live in madera and go to school up in Tollhouse. Cool to see at least a couple people in this area. Probably wouldn't be able to make it to any kinds of get-togethers, as I've quite a busy schedule at the moment (I'm a senior at Sierra High). But just chiming in to represent my smaller northern hometown.

Hello, all,

This is my second year with NaNo and my first year here in Fresno. Last year I was up in Davis and it was a blast. I am a grad student at CSUF and I'm teaching freshman composition there, too.

I'm really looking forward to NaNo this year. Hopefully I see some of you at a local write-in, or perhaps even the Night of Writing Dangerously.

Happy writing,
Ryan

Hey Everyone,
For those of you who have not checked out the 'Write-ins' post, we're organizing an informal kick-off party for this Wednesday at the Teazers location in downtown Fresno. The address is 2405 Capitol St., Ste. 104, inside The Galleria at Civic Center. There is parking available behind the building. Hope you can make it!

Thanks to all the Nano's and supporters that came out to tonight's kick-off! I'd have to say that it was a successful turn out. For all of you who missed it, we're going to keep posting updates about get-togethers on the 'Write-ins' thread.

Lucky us...for the start on Nov. 1st the Teazer's location in downtown (which is normally closed on Sundays) has agreed to graciously open their doors to us beginning at 4:00pm! There is one catch...you must buy some tea :) I think that's a fair trade, don't you? If you can't make it on the 1st...we'll be setting up shop for the first write-in at Teazers downtown on Wednesday, Nov. 4th in the evening (whenever you can get there). If anyone wants to go more than one day a week, and you want some company, feel free to post it also on here for meet-ups.

For a look ahead...we're toying with the idea of doing an all-nighter here in Fresno the Saturday before NaNo is hosting their "Night of Writing Dangerously." If you're not planning on going to S.F. and you're up for it, keep the evening of Saturday the 21st open. We're thinking maybe a Denny's for location. I'll keep you posted.
