I just got back from meeting the NaNo crew in my new region (Baton Rouge, LA). I mentioned that I'd done NaNo several times but was new to the area, and immediately they were like "ooh? what was your previous region? can we challenge them?!"
So there you have it. An official challenge from Baton Rouge. Is Notre Dame/South Bend/Mishawaka/Elkhart/etc up to it?

I am jealous that you've had a meetup already. I don't think my region's getting together at all until Halloween!
Even though I'm technically not part of this region anymore, we need to continue our throwdown from last year. Team Aubrey shall prevail!

Okay, so here's what the Baton Rouge peeps had in mind:
-Get a bunch of people together at a coffee shop for a write-in.
-Then, at a given time (Sundays 3:30 ET was their original suggestion), the clock begins! One hour word war!
-At the end of that hour, the group with the higher word-per-person average wins! (Only people present at the write-in count.)
Of course, this is more fun if the write-ins in the two regions are simultaneous, as it allows for immediate gloating privileges; but if simultaneous write-ins aren't possible, I'm sure we can come up with alternatives, such as a weekly word-per-person average challenge or something along those lines.

Haha, bring it! I'm technically not part of this region either, so it'll be an even contest. :D

I bet I can convince Edinburgh to war with us. They're a scrappy bunch, though.
