Hi Everyone!

It's never too early to start thinking about Nanowrimo. I think we should have a get-together before November 1st to meet our fellow novelists here in Ithaca. Since I imagine many of us will be busy on Saturday, October 31st, I thought it'd be nice if we met earlier in the week in the early evening at a bookstore or coffee shop and made some introductions. I will have welcome stickers! Any suggestions about locations and or day of the week that would be best? I was thinking about someplace near the Commons would be most central. Of course, as the month comes, we can schedule write-ins at various locations around town.

Thoughts?

Caitlin

Hey Caitlin - Great idea to get together before hand. Just pick a date. I am booked pretty solid that last week of the month but if I can make it, I will.

Whatever you can work out is great. Last year lots of people met at Autumn Leaves and that was really nice.

How many of us are there going to be? That would affect where we can meet. But, Atumn leaves does sound good. I like how there's tons of books.

Times: Between 4 and 6 on Wednesday and Friday, and between 4 and 9ish on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

I might be up for a meet-n-greet, tho I'm hosting visitors that week so might not make it. I have yet to actually venture upstairs at Autumn Leaves, but seems good.

I'd like to come if I can! I'd definitely prefer the weekend.

Look forward to meeting all of you!

I would recommend Autumn Leaves as well for a meet.

Sadly, I probably won't be able to go to any events held during a weekday. I don't have a car, so my transportation is limited to my campus bus schedules, which are extremely inconvenient on weekdays. (One at 8 AM and one at 5 PM, that's it. Le suck!)

Any time works for me, though Saturdays tend to be busy for me, and I'll be helping at the Museum of the Earth all day on Halloween for the International Year of Astronomy event.

At the risk of sounding like a lame social pariah with no Friday plans, I'd like to suggest Oct 30, early evening or whenever, as Halloween Saturday looks unlikely for most.

Sounds good to me; since my instinct would be to stay at home, I think i'll make a point of going. All I need is fair forewarning as to a when and where so i can plan accordingly.

Hi Everyone-
My siblings and I live about 45 minutes away from Ithaca, but we would like to go to a meet and greet. Any time besides a Friday night from 5-8 is great (we are homeschooled, and mom works at a library on Friday nights). Also we would like to know where Autumn Leaves is. :D

I may or may not be in town that weekend, so I'm honestly not sure if I can make anything, though I'll try to come if I am in town.

I'm mostly free any day of the week after 6pm. For the meet & greet, do you think we could go somewhere with food/drinks? I've actually never been to Autumn Leaves, so I have no idea what snack availability is, but I think food options of some sort will be a definite draw. =)

Hi guys.
I would also like to come to one of these! I'm available M-F after one, except for Thursday, which is after 4:30.

We met a lot at Autumn Leaves last year, but if more than ~20 people show up it can get a little crowded. So that's something to consider.
Anyway, Autumn Leaves is on the Commons, four or five shops down from the Cayuga street end. And they have a sort of mini-cafe with food and drinks upstairs, so we're all set on that front. :]

Hi,

I've set up a meet and greet for Friday, Oct. 30th. I'll be there from 4-7 - stop by anytime you're free that evening. Hopefully that's late enough that folks can stop by after work, but early enough not to interfere too much with evening plans. I know some folks are only free on the weekend - we'll have our first write-in on Sunday, Nov 1st, so I look forward to meeting those of you who can't make it then!

See you then!

Caitlin

Hmmm... made it there by about 6.40, but didn't spot any potential NaNoWriMos. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough? Or y'all debunked to the nearest bar for some real refreshment? I'm hoping the latter, but suspect the former. Cute place tho, I'll definitely return, probably often, before the month is up!

I'm sorry you didn't spot me, Slithy-toves! Most of the party had left by 6:30, but I was there until 7, reading the Jane Austen Book Club. Unfortunately, I'd given our signs to the nice Autumn Leaves people so they can reserve our tables for us for our first write-in on Sunday. I should have worn my nanowrimo t-shirt or held onto one of the signs. Please come to the write-in - I owe you an apology and a sticker!
