Hey all,

So, while the topic of write-ins is being tossed around, I was wondering if anyone would be interested if I organized a write-in on a Monday. I have a lot more flexibility in place than I do in time (willing to travel an hour or so in any direction), as I am willing to drive quite a ways for a write-in, but I only have Mondays off and the rest of the days I work from 10am-10pm (at least). It sounds like most of the current weekend write-ins are occurring too early for me to attend.

Anyways, my point if if other people are interested in a Monday write-in, I will organize it. I'm thinking earlier in the Month will be better. I just need to know how many and where people are interested.

:)

I would probably go to at least 2-3 write-ins on Mondays if they were in Davis (I don't drive). I have meetings on Mondays every other week or so, but the other half of the time I'm free.

Depending on place, Monday would be fine with me.

I'm okay for most Mondays in the month, depending on start time.

I would love to have scheduled Monday write-ins, but I also do not drive, so Tupelo works best for me (or anywhere else near East Sac).

I'd be interested in attending the first Monday, November 2nd... but unfortunately, after that work wins the great tug o war. Still, sounds good.

Ok, I found a great new coffee shop for writing today, so I invite anyone who wants to join me on Monday Nov 2nd at The Coffee Garden at 2904 Franklin Blvd. This is just south of Broadway, about a 10-15 min drive from midtown. I am thinking of starting somewhere between 1 and 5pm and going until they close at 10pm (I am also planning on just eating dinner there, as their food is tasty. Basically, since my writing time is Super Limited, I plan to camp out and see if I can't just write a novel in a day!)

Anyways, they have tons of seating (a front room, a huge side room, and a large back garden), and tons of outlets, even in the garden/patio area. Power strips would probably still be a good call, as their ample plugins are mostly spread out into pairs. IF the weather is nice, i plan to be on the back patio. If it is bad, I plan to be in the side room (it's quieter than the main room).

Let me know if you want me to save a seat for you, or feel free to just show up. You will be able to spot me by my NaNo coffee mug, and my laptop has this year's "noveling machine" sticker on it

Let's get the party started!!!

I'll try to come but it'll be after work maybe around 4:30 or so.

If no one will be there that early, let me know and I'll come after six.

Never mind, I'm out. Got drafted to dog-sit Sunday-Monday out in the East Bay. I'll be starting NaNo on my (sniff sniff) own!

Well, except for the kick-off party and all.

I'm going to try to be there, but I'll have to leave by 5 PM. My attendance will depend on whether I am able to drive due to pain meds for wisdom tooth extraction. All four of 'em :)

Okay, I'm in. I will be at The Coffee Garden at 2904 Franklin Blvd at about 1 o'clock on Monday the 2nd, so anybody else who wants to be there, come on by and share in the fun. I'll be the guy with the ponytail and the red laptop, if you have questions on who the fellow NaNoers are. I will try to remember to bring a power strip.

Hope to see some of you there!

Awesome! I'll be there! I'll probably try to be there at noon, because I have class at 6 on Mondays and I'd need to leave around 4:30. I'll bring at least two power strips, and I'll be wearing a hijab. A purple one. I dub my purple hijab my Official NaNo Hijab. :) I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Ack, I'm not going to be able to make it. Because my inlaws are utter morons and can't listen when I say that I will be out of the house MONDAY rather than TUESDAY, if I want to have the house to myself (an event that is rare as a blue moon), I have to stay home today rather than tomorrow.

Have I mentioned what utter dolts they are?

So therefore I am not going to be there, boo, hiss, throw yer tomatoes. I have to take this opportunity because the next one won't come for... quite some time.

Morons.

Too bad Goat, I was looking forward to meeting your Red laptop.

I'm a bit later than planned getting out of the house, but am leaving now and should get to coffee garden about 3:15. My laptop has a NaNo sticker and a Utilikilts sticker, and I'm wearing a Green tank top. I'll look for your hijab, Larissa

I am on my way over there as well. I probably won't stick around too long, but I've reached my word count quota, and the Coffee Garden is practically around the corner from me.

See some of you there shortly. I will be the guy in the powerchair. :)

AGH! Sorry for being so lame. Some work issues came up and I am just now getting to Coffee Garden. If anyone is comeing for evening shifts, I am in the room off to the side of the main room. Ask one of the baristas and they will direct you.

Had an impromptu write-in in Carmichael today at Boulevard Coffee. Four of us (Myself, SteveinSac, Peeps, and one other lady whose name I did not catch) randomly decided to write at the same time and the same place. Of course it may have just been random to me, I dunno. =)

It was nice to have other people writing at my usual writing spot and despite doing more than my share of chatting I still managed to get in 1500 words; a rousing success in my book.

I am SO sorry I missed tonight; I went in to school early and realised I had way more work to do that I'd thought. I've been here since 11am, and it's almost 9:40pm. Omg. I do NOT want to be learning InDesign this late at night, on an empty stomach. That's it, I'm going to In-N-Out Burger after school. Maybe Denny's. I prefer Arrow Burger's food, but Denny's has outlets . . . Oh, the dilemma . . .

Anyway, again, I'm so sorry I couldn't make it this week; I don't have anything due next week, so I'll do my absolute best to be there next Monday.
