FAQ
What is a Write In?
- A write in is simply a gathering of Wrimos during the month of November based around WRITING your novels.
Is a Write In the same as a Meet Up?
- Not exactly. People come to write ins in order to get support while writing their novel. Seeing five other people bent over their novels writing away is a powerful motivating force. Sometimes word wars are started to see who can write X number of words first.
Can I socialize and meet other wrimos at a Write In?
- You can, but please remember that a write in is about the WRITING. If you want to talk a lot please consider moving away from others who are writing :) This is not to say that there is no talking allowed, just that you should be aware of other people who are trying to get their words out.
Do I need to RSVP?
-Generally no, unless the person organizing the write in says so specifically you are free to show up at any write in without needing to RSVP.
How do I set up a Write In near me?
- Just pick a time, place, and date. Then post it here and let me know. I'll add it to the calendar and mention it in regional e-mails!
Do I need a laptop to join a write in?
- Not at all, notebooks and paper are more than welcome, as well as other methods of recording your novel. I suggest that if you plan to use smoke signals you choose a write in that's being held outdoors. ;)
I have another question not answered here!
-Leave a comment or nano mail me. I'd be glad to answer it.

Anybody interested in a write-in in the Seabrook, NH area? The last few years I've invited folks to the Starbucks on Rt 1 on Friday nights. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll arrange that again.

Most weekdays, usually between 1 and 4 p.m., I can be found at the Starbucks on DW Highway in Nashua, either writing away or starring off into space. Could always use the company.

Re: Seabrook Starbucks
Looks like I may not be able to make every Friday this year, after all. Let me know if you are definitely going and I will try to get there, too.
For anyone else who hasn't been there, it's a nice little place to hang out--plenty of tables and electricity, and not crowded most of the time. I think most of their business is drive-through.

I will likely be at Crackskulls in downtown Newmarket at least a few nights during the month. I'll need the caffeine.

My husband and I are both doing NaNo, and plan on being at the Dover Uno's on Sunday evenings - I don't think there are any outlets, so if you have a laptop with a decent battery or a notepad and you feel like stopping by just let me know!

So I finally got my building permit - after 15 months of Red-Queen-worthy conundrums with various interested boards and commissions.... hooray for me. BUT.
The roof is coming off my house next week. Therefore, I will be spending most weekday mornings (but not Tuesdays) writing at the Lane Library on Winnacunnet Rd in Hampton. I usually sit in one of the 'older' rooms that have easy chairs. There are lots of outlets and a pleasant staff. You'll recognize me by my scarred Toshiba laptop, blue 'Lane Library' canvas book bag, and (probably) disheveled grayish brownish hair. Seriously, if anyone wants to hang out with me, just send a pm and we can figure something out.
