So I had planned a single weekend write-in, but it looks like a lot people are definitely up to more of them. The first Saturday is currently planned for a 6:30pm-9pm at Williams. There are three more Saturdays and four Sundays (five if you include the 1st). I won't be able to make all of the write-ins, but here's a thread to figure out when and where you'll be meeting on the weekend write-ins. So, basically, I'm asking when and where.

I don't really have any specific suggestions. Personally, I'm up for whenever my homework allows it.

Sarah King Gold has the art show (after mine) in November at Fromagerie Elgin. Maybe we could do a write in there? Sarah will have new abstract pantings up and that might help keep the creativity going. I thought the cross-polination event with her work went well for all involved.

I'm available after 2pm on the weekends.

So maybe a 2-4pm?

I'd much rather give my coin to support the Fromagerie over William's - considering how accommodating they have been.

I'm cool with the Fromagerie, but I'd also like to mix it up a bit. Some of us are there once a week already and you can only eat so much cheese. ;)

So, maybe the 14th at La From, and then other places on the following two weekends, if folks are up for that?

I'd LOVE an afternoon at the Laughing Buddha, heck, even outside! All dressed up in our warmest by one of the heater? Hee! Or upstairs?

I would love to do a weekend at a pub or something. Pedllers or Grumblers (or whatever your suggestions). Have a couple of beer or some wine with the writing experience. In college to get through really boring papers we would drink our way through, something about the booze loosening up our communication skills. Honestly it didn't work out too bad because we always did well; it’s just a fine line between loosened up and spilling liquid on the laptop is all.

I should be able to make most weekend write ins provided that they end before noon or are after 2:00. I really am going to try and maintain a semblance of a life throughout this experience and hitting the gym is one of those goals I want to be able to do while writing.

I won't be in town whatever weekend New Moon is being released. Kind of a dorky tradition but my sister and I have to see it together so I will be heading her way to North Bay for that weekend. That is the only weekend I really intend on taking off from writing. I could try to write in her presence but some seriously silly shit might occur that probably won't flow well with my story.

Ooh! Grumbers would be a great choice! They have big wide tables. Not sure about plug-ability, but if we all save our batteries, we should be set!

...

All right ... way too many exclamation marks. I know. But my world-building is really coming along for my NaNo and I'm getting all excitable. :D

We asked Derek about the weekends for a write-in.

His response: "It's a zoo in here on weekends."

Soooo...play it by ear I guess? We should also take care to avoid any big hockey nights, either locally or nationally. :D

Alright, so as was mentioned, we have spoken with Derek at the Fromagerie. Wednesday Nov 18th from 6-9 has been booked for us, so that's another location down. He did mention that weekends were usually very busy for him, but if it's a smaller group, they're more than welcome. So I've marked a short little 2pm-4pm on Nov 28th at that location. I probably won't be there myself as I'll be at work, but by that point, we should be able to recognize each other pretty well.

Sylvie, you mentioned possibly being able to get us a room at Laurentien University. Can you book one for Sat Nov 21st, from 12pm - 4pm? I think that would be a good mid-point daytime weekend meeting.

Grumblers sounds like a good idea, but we'll have to figure out a day. Friday and Saturday are probably not good, but they may be open on a Sunday... I'll give them a call and find out if they'd have us.

I'll look into getting a room on that day and I'll let you guys know. I really don't see a problem, especially since it's a Saturday.
