I see some of you are using the forums already to try and arrange unofficial write-ins, and that is excellent. Both Rachel (fuzzynerds) and I (Maggie) really encourage you to use the forums for that kind of schedule arranging and organizing! It's great to see people so interested. ^.^
However, sometimes, motivation takes hold, and you realize you need to get out and about to do some writing. Occasionally, you might decide that you would like company while out in about in the area writing up a proverbial storm. That's what this thread is for.
Example: This afternoon (11/1) I'll be at the Barnes and Noble in the Tallahassee Mall to write from 1 pm until whenever. Join me if you'd like!
Example: I'm heading to Panera Bread on Blair Stone Rd. to write and I'll be there for about two hours. (11/3, 4pm)
That's all there is to it. If you find yourself heading out and about in public to write, please post it here! Who knows, someone might be watching the forums and join you, and viola, it's a write-in! (Now wasn't that easy?)

For those of you who have ventured into Second Life, there is a NaNo group -- SL Wrimos -- that will be holding group write-ins at the SLiterary Cafe which happens to be located next door to the NaNoWriMo Shrine.
I expect to use it at those times when I can't get to real life write-ins.
Caveat emptor: If you aren't already in Second Life, I recommend you wait until AFTER November to try it. It's just too, too seductive!
ADDENDUM
Under the Virtual Worlds forum, just found Second Life. Seems that NaNoers have been active in SL for quite some time.

This isn't quite impromptu...
----------The cafe where I work (Uptown Cafe- ask for directions if you're interested) has a meeting room, separate from the dining room. It's, wireless 'net, outlets, food, coffee, etc, etc. Call ahead to make sure it's open if you want to use it either for an impromptu Write-In or for something more planned out. By call ahead I mean before you leave your house- we do have reserved meetings in there once or twice a week. Feel free to reserve it, too. I'd really appreciate it if everyone could buy at least a little something- coffee, muffin, cookie, whatever.
This would be ideal for morning Write-Ins (for those of use who don't have class or work in the morning) since we serve breakfast. We're open from seven to three. Feel free to stop by and write solo in the dining room if you just need to escape your house.

Does anyone do Twitter? We could Tweet impromptu write-ins,and hashtag it so we could all find it easily...... that would give instant notification to anyone who Twitters.

Since I may not be able to make any of the official write-ins, I've thought of holding a few impromptu write-ins at Goldstein Library (see the "FSU write-ins" thread) and at Brew N' Bean (at Pensacola and Chapel, slightly Southwest of the FSU campus)- which is cozy, open until Midnight and has both coffee (obviously) and beer on tap, in case anyone needs more than caffeine to inspire them. I'll keep people posted...

But where is Goldstein library?

Goldstein Library is in the Shores Building, off of Landis Green. It's right behind that staff parking lot near the Park Ave. Diner.
I'll probably be writing there for a while tomorrow (11/3) in the afternoon, since my first evening class has been canceled.

I'm going to be writing @ Goldstein from 6:30-9 tonight if anyone is interested in joining me. Nine is actually just a suggested ending time, the library closes at 10.

Usually, I spend time with my girlfriend on Fridays, but due to her work schedule this week, I'd like to see if anyone would be interested in an impromptu write-in for the early evening. I'm not as knowledgable about Tallahassee in the evening as I should be, so if you have any suggestions on where one could take place, that would be awesome! Time is flexible and lately, so is my mind. Any more and I would have to call myself Gumby, but that's another issue entirely. :-p

Just so you guys know, after the write-in today (which is at the Main Library and ends at 4pm) I will be headed over to Panera to grab some dinner and do some serious studying. If anyone wants to join me and write (or study, because unfortunately school doesn't stop for NaNoWriMo), please feel free. :) I'll be there for at least two hours, possibly more if I decide to write some more while I'm there.

Hey guys, I'm headed to Stroizer.
To write tonight. The 13th. Friday.
If anyone wants to come, leave a message... or something. I might be up on the fifth floor, but if more people show up, we can see about getting a study room or something.

or... not.... apparently libraries aren't open on friday nights.
I've camped out in the SLC (FSU campus) if someone else is writing and willing to hang with me and/or direct me to somewhere better that's near by... it'd be much appreciated. I'll probably be at this for a while.
TT_TT why is library closed......? I thought it would be opennnnnnnnnn.....

Evil_Saru: would have come, but didn't think to check. I was in Strozier this Friday to write as well, got kicked out, and then went to Pitaria in hopes of coffee and Internet (and encountered a friend and went to a concert and didn't write much at all.)
CAMPUS IS FULL OF SUCK on Fridays and everything shuts down at 5 or 6. I didn't think of the SLC though.
If you are going to be writing on campus again and would like company, I would be up for it. Let me knowwwwww.
