Hi guys,

I am pleased to bring you a list of this year's events. This will be one of two posts about the events we have planned - this year marks the return of Peoria, IL as a sister-region, and I am excited to say we have another region, Fredericton, New Brunswick, joining in our competition. One of the things we are doing within this Tri-City, multi-region challenge is to bring online write-ins, hosted in turn by each of the three cities, where we have the opportunity to compete for regional word-wars. Because these are online only events, I'll be posting them in a separate thread. What I'll be listing here are the in-person events that will be hosted for the Gainesville, Fl region. We look forward to seeing you.
-Christy

I just wanted to ask about the Pre-Thanksgiving Write-in. It says Sunday, but the 25th is actually on a Wednesday. If it's pre-Thanksgiving, I'm sure you probably meant Wednesday :)

Oops, no it's Sunday the 22nd, not the 25th. I'll fix that in the original list above. We're referring to it as the pre-Thanksgiving event since it is the one happening the week of Thanksgiving, but as many people leave town for the holiday, we figured the weekend was a safer bet.

Thanks for catching the discrepancy!

Hey everyone!

I completely lost track of the days and managed to miss the initial Meet and Greet, but I'm really looking forward to NaNoWriMo this year and hoping to take part in a lot of these events. I was just wondering regarding the write-in on this Sunday if it's alright to get there late? I want to go but won't be able to make it until 12PM at the earliest.

Can't wait for November to start! Hope to see and hear from you guys soon.

Hi Raes,

You bring up a good question, and yes, you are absolutely welcome to show up to any of our events any time after they start. The times posted are generally when we have the rooms reserved, and when the MLs will be there. You are welcome to come and go during that time, and depending on if it is a public space, come early, and / or stay later.

The only time where when you show up makes a differences is for the online write-ins. Found on the Online events thread, the hosting of these rotates between us, and our two sister-regions, Frederiction, and Peoria. The chat room is open / available any time, regardless of online events, but during the online events, there will be hosted word wars at pre-set times (generally half an hour after the online write-in starts) for an hour. If you do come to one of the online write-ins late, we ask you do not join in the word war if you come in 15 minutes after the war started. So, other than that, you are welcome at any of the online and in-person events at any time during the events that meet your schedule.

I look forward to seeing you, and here's good wishes for a good start :-)
