Hello, everyone! How are you all tonight?

I was just sent a message by the new ML for the Baton Rouge region asking about the Elsewhere/BR annual word wars. I know a few are you are ready to go on them, but the Red Sticks want to do something different with their write-ins so they propose a different challenge.

Here's the BR ML's message to me proposing their new challenge:

We're planning on doing something a little different with our Sunday write-ins this year, but we couldn't give up the Elsewhere/Baton Rouge grudge match entirely. SO! We'd like to issue a month long challenge to the group. The stats will actually show up in the header this year. And I'd like to set up a smack talk thread on one or both of our forums. Also, to up the ante just a little: the loser must post a video of the group (or part of the group in your elsewhere case) doing the chicken dance.

So, any thoughts, ideas, further challenges? Courtney and I will iron out all the details. Just post your ideas here and we can get discussing them before November hits.

What are they doing with their Sunday write-ins this year? I'm not too interested in a month long challenge personally. I know those weekend challenges really pushed me to get just a few more words written every Sunday. What are WE going to do instead for that little extra push ourselves?

They were awesome! We'd write the heck out of our stories for one designated hour on Sundays and compare averages with BR.

And we completely schooled them.

Which is why they want to do this new thing. Because we rock, and they are afraid of our awesomeness.

I think I might have started smack talk too early XD

Are you remembering the same write ins I am? The truth is we lost as much (or more than) we won over the past several years. However they were all wonderful for adding words to the count. Because of my schedule, I was only in some of them, but had a blast.

To replace it, why don't we do a daily challenge. My Second Life group sends out a 'word of the day' challenge to include. BR usually would have someone post a 1 - 2 sentence crazy idea. At least once a week it would involve killing mutilating chickens.

I'll post today's SL word and a challenge for tomorrow. If y'all want to do this, though, everyone has to help create the challenges.

Only did it last year and we completely kicked butt. Don't know about the other years. *shrug*

I was looking forward to some online write-ins, so I'll try whatever. I need the motivation this year.

How about we just do weekly word wars amongst ourselves? We don't even have to limit it to once a week, we could do them throughout the week to help give us each the boost we need. Just an option.

That sounds like a good idea to me.

Anything to get me motivated.

I'm not writing the story I was looking forward to doing. I needed more time for research. Instead, I'm working another old idea and finding I'm not that into it right now.

If I don't feel the spark soon, I'm never going to catch up.

Other than Sundays, what times and days would be good for general word wars against the rest of the group?
