Hello Regina Nanoers!
Here are the details for the kick-off party:
When: October 31, 2009
Time: 9:00pm to 12:15am
Where: UofR South tower Residence (Morgan’s place)
Since it is Halloween, I thought it would be fun for us to dress up. And, since we’re all writers (or wannabe writers) I thought it would be fitting to dress up as someone from a novel (which should be extremely easy....and graphic novels do count)
It is absolutely vital for you to RSVP. Since the party is at the University Residence, there can only be a certain amount of people allowed to be signed in, and we would like to make sure that everyone who wants to come can get in.
There will be a 15 minute word war happening at the stroke of midnight to help everyone get off to a good start, so be sure to bring your laptops and/or writing utensils.
I would also like to request that you bring your own drinks. Some snack food will be provided.
I think that covers just about everything. Hope to see you there!

And now I'm tempted to go as Mina... except I don't have the awesome Victorian clothing. And my hair is the wrong colour to be Pepper... I suppose I could always just be Hermione - I've got the hair, eyes and annoying know-it-all nature down pat.
I just don't own any skirts.

I don't usually dress up for Halloween... I like the idea of it, but find it's cheaper to dress up my animals instead. My dog is getting stuffed into one of those embarassing costumes and being put on display at the grooming salon.
But to avoid being the odd one out, I'll try to come up with something novel-ish. ;] I'm mighty tempted to slap on some sparkly lotion, flip out my hair, and call myself Alice from Twilight. Y'know, seeing's how Hermione is already taken, and I can't think of many others who wouldn't require cross-dressing.
Like I mentioned in the other thread, I'll also be toting along some pop and chocolate, so anyone who forgets their own drinks should be safe.

I love the idea of costuming more than actually costuming... My skills at sewing are actually pretty decent... I just don't have access to a sewing machine.

----------Not telling what I'm dressing up as, but it's basically the costume I already had in mind, only now I'll have a name. I love it when things work out like that.
As far as food and such, I have a tendency towards random baking, and am envisioning something with a lot of chocolate and orange ... There will definitely be no shortage of snacks!

Guess who was just informed that they're supposed to be on candy-and-baby duty this Saturday?
(Baby = unrelated to Halloween, I swear. XD Babysitting the nephew!)
My mom is out of town, my siblings are both going to Halloween parties, and everyone agreed that it's 'my turn' to stay home and dole out candy. I didn't know we were in the habit of taking turns, but apparently we are!

----------I just realized I didn't mention that you can't get up the tower by yourselves, for those of you who didn't know. There is a phone at the bottom of the tower, just inside the doors which has a list of numbers in front of it. Find the name Morgan Moats and dial the four digit number beside it, then tell me you're here so I can let you up.
