So what is everyone writing about? Mine is going to be a fantasy this year and it is a follow up to two other stories I have already written.

Mine is going to be... I have no idea. All I know is that there are superpowers and there is one without superpowers and one with bad superpowers... and one who makes messes just for fun.

Anyway, it'll be different than the last two years.

Also, I don't know why I'm on the boards so much this year... usually I never come on. Must be because I'm bored out here in Chinatown.

I usually don't choose my topic or characters until Nov 1. I use Seventh Sanctum's random plot and character generators as a starting off point. It's served me well these past four years. I'm thinking about zombies, though. Hmm.

I'm probably going to be writing a story about a vampire. But I'm still thinking about it.

An adventure novel, fantasy with minimal or no magic. There are quests and hidden pasts, not to mention pox doctors, priests, and viking raiders!

I'm not sure really what I'm going to write. I only heard about NaNoWriMo yesterday. I'm thinking of just sitting down and seeing what flows from my fingers..... Can you tell that I'm a newbie?

I'm going to try and not write a standard thing this year, but go for something for along the lines of a webnovel or hypertext novel.

Heavy character development, lit fic novel, but applying some fantasy and science-fiction concepts. Taking place in an alternate reality San Francisco/Beijing (if such a thing were possible to exist).

Mine is modern magical realism, set in or near NYC. It's heavy on character development, moving toward action at the end. This will be my first novel completed . . . assuming I complete it. LOL.

I don't really know how to classify mine. It's a sci-fic/philosophical adventure with a hint of religion
