I thought this worked very well last year. Definitely made me think about things a bit differently.

The deal is, you post a summary of your novel in NO MORE than 3 words, 10 words, and 30 words. It's kind of the opposite of Nano - quality over quantity. (Also, it's way easier to read short summaries than big long ones. Also also, this way they're all collected in one place. Also also also, beans.)

My novel is called: Nothing yet, since I haven't found a name that doesn't give it all away.

3 words: Timey wimey stuff.

10 words: A woman dreams about her life, and her past lives.

30 words: The MC (who is never named) relives major events in her dreams. Initially, they are major events from her own history; eventually, though, she's Marie Antoinette, Mrs Hitler, etc.

Yay, I still managed to keep the twist unmentioned. (And I slipped in a Doctor Who quote for good measure.)

LOL Jam. Also also also, BEANS.

Also also also also, damnit. I've forgotten what the twist is. Brb, asking Mel.

...Okay, I'm back and all caught up. Everyone, the twist is AWESOME.

Also x5, I'll write mine later. Haha.

3 words: Twin brother dies

30 words: Teenager has magical powers transferred to him from dying twin brother and tries to use them for good so his brother lives on.

I managed to keep my twist unmentioned too. :D

Title: The Edge of Sight

3 words: Smut. Orwellian smut.

10 words: A woman hunts rebels in a militaristic society plus smut.

30 words: Woman hunts a band of rebels determined to expose the society they live in for what it is until she is betrayed by the man she thought she loved. Smut.

I have at least two twists that would totally ruin my novel if I told you now. Seems like this is the year of twists.

Aww, my novel doesn't have a twist. It's very straightforward, actually. It is middle grade fiction after all.

Title: It's special enough not to have one yet :P

3 words: Kids find robot

10 words: Three kids find a futuristic robot and save the world

30 words: Three kids find a futuristic robot in a garbage dump and at the same time, kids are going missing and it’s up to the kids to expose a terrible plan

Okay, proper response time.

Title: Othermoon.

3 words: Reality versus Unreality.

10 words: Girl's life turns questionable after finding injured boy on beach.

30 words: The day her mother dies, Morgan finds Luc. When he disappears, he's written off as post traumatic stress. Morgan must look beyond reality to Othermoon to find him.

Interesting. Let me think and plan and plot ( and possibly over use a thesaurus so that my wordsare used as efficiently as possible) also, my story seems twistless, sort of. I just don't know how to write it in three words.

Title: Reign of the Super-Men

3 Words: Superpowered People Fight!

10 Words: Superpowered people fight over the fate of the world.

30 Words: Superpowered people emerge and join to defeat the villian who is on a quest for world domination. One of the good guys knows the villian. Others are tempted. Some fall.

That's if I continue on with last year's story. I've been in a short story mood of late, so may decide to do an anthology instead.

Okay so after some thinking, here is the idea I think I'm going to try and write (assuming I don't change my mind halfway through and try to start again from scratch)

Title: End Game
Genre: Science Fiction

Three Words: First intra-solar war

Ten Words: World ends, but war doesn’t, space people don’t like it

Thirty Words: The last world war kills the planet, and the leaders of both sides bring their war with them when they escape. Meanwhile the old space leaders try to force peace.

Okay, so no real twists to be seen there, and for those who are interested, I managed to get in under my word limits without looking through a thesuarus for obscure and forgotten words, if it wasn't already obvious.

Ohh! So many to read about! They sound interesting!

@Mr Heywire: I like the dream thing and the title is awesome. Makes me want to read it right now.

@EccentricEmily: I have a thing about using board game tactics as part of my novels (although most times it hasn't meshed properly with the novel) whether as something the characters do or chapter titles and whatnot. I'll be interesting to hear how yours goes. :)

Hopefully I can flesh this out a bit better as that's about the gist of all I have right now

Three Words: Several different lives

Ten Words: Short stories over a day about several people's lives

Thirty Words: Short stories over a day about several people's lives hopefully interweaving and connecting at some point...

I will probably change the plot completely tomorrow and the day after... Also I planned out my story then lost the plan... I have since made and plan to lose another... A great beginning!

I wish I could fit a Doctor Who reference into mine... Maybe I should switch genres...
