Hey,
I noticed last year that Nano did not get the full donations it was shooting for and I'm guessing that it's not going to come anywhere close this year with the economy the way it is. I would hate to see Nanowrimo get shut down so I was thinking that maybe we could try to raise some funds to send to Nano from the Lansing area.

Shoot any ideas you have here. I would like to do something this month so that it doesn't cut into our writing time in November.

A bake sale maybe? Free concert is somebody knows a band. Any idea would be helpful. Something at Michigan State would probably be best because of the mass amount of people. I go to State but sadly, I don't know how to organize anything for charity.

If you're really serious about this my e-mail is lucassa3@msu.edu

I'd love to hear ideas!

We talked about trying to organize something this year but haven't gotten any further in the planning. Has anyone shot you any ideas? A bake could be good if it gets coordinated. We could also schedule a write-a-thon day where folks get pledges for how many words they write in a certain period of time. There is a new program from the folks at the Office of Letters and Light that is a fundraising contest between regions. I haven't had a chance to famliarize myself with it yet though.
