I hate to break it to everyone but there is a life outside of NaNo, and if you guys are anything like me you're lives are gonna be pretty busy this November.

I've already read around the place what a few people are up to next month (babies, moving, exams, etc). But i figured people might want to share their life commitments for the month...

I just added something new to my list, and it was already getting ridiculously long.

My current list is:
- 2 major assignments for uni
- 2 exams
- Working part-time
- Coaching
- A WEDDING! (not mine, but a really good friend of mine)

What about you guys?

On a personal front I have:
move
watch my parents fly away to Scotland for a white christmas
... That's about it actually

on a professional front:
work 15 12 hour shifts
do some freelance programming work to help pay for the house I'm buying

and on the front of my volunteer work:
keep an adult division running
continue to organise activities for the three cadet divisions in the region
attend as many end of year functions as they can torture me with
attend an awards day in Adelaide in the last week of November

holy bajesus that's more than I thought it was

I was thinking along the same lines especially considering my major plan for doing two assignments a week till November has gone down in flames...

My list:
5 major assignments for uni
6 minor assignments for uni
1 exam
a funeral (my grandad passed away last week)
move houses temporarily (to look after his house(must get wireless!))
pack to move houses in December

And generally be part of the awesome ML duo!

I feel like I have so little compared to you guys. I finish Uni on Friday the 13th (LOL, hope that's not a omen) of Nov and I have absolutely no exams, so after that I'm free. :D

My list:
1 short story for English (which is written, but will need to be revised after workshopping next week)
1 essay for Education (it's planned and I plan on writing it before the end of October)
1 set of tutorial notes for Education
Three shifts at work each week
A holiday to Sydney to see Mamma Mia! and Wicked (though I only leave on the 30th (early in the morning) so I'll need to have my Nano novel completed by the 29th)

Other than that, I shall devote my time to writing!! :)

My current list, potentially subject to further changes:

1. Working full-time, either continuing on as usual in my current job or trying to pick up a new, higher duties role that (if I get it) starts first week of November;
2. Roller Derby training (at least twice per week) and skills tests (one on November 2nd and the other just into December);
3. One week in Ballarat / Melbourne visiting my family;
4. My 26th birthday and the requisite party;
5. Participating in two work-run exercise challenges, being the Corporate Cup and the 10000 Step Challenge, both of which involve me walking / jogging for approximately an hour each day;
6. Continuing on with a reasonably high exercise regime;
7. Attending some Feast Festival events and activities;
8. Potentially (although we've not heard about it for some time) having a friend over from Melbourne for Feast;
9. Making time to visit a friend who will be over from France, and another two who have recently had babies;
10. Keeping an eye on the dog so he doesn't get into any more scrapes;
11. Keeping an eye on the cat so she doesn't get jealous that we're paying attention to the dog and pee in the bath again;
12. Trying to keep up with housework;
13. Trying to spend time with my beautiful wife (who at least is a Nanoer and at least understands)... and
14. Trying to avoid curling up in a ball somewhere.

Already stressing out.

Oh damnit. I almost managed to forget and wrap myself in a cozy blanket of blissful, ignorance. But now I'm remembering I have no life, and am feeling all depressed like.

Don't worry about him. He's being sarcastic, even though he's right that he doesn't have a life. :P

My November:
1. Three major assignments.
2. One exam
3. Fulltime work (I get bumped up to Seasonal Fulltime on the 10th of November)
4. Work Christmas dinner
5. My sister's wedding
6. A hen's night (which I'm still not sure if I'm going to)
7. Trying not to ignore my family and boyfriend (the family at least understand what November is about, I'm not quite sure I've correctly explained what's involved to the boyfriend yet)
8. Another wedding, which is actually at the very start of December, but will include November in preparations

LOL. I was just thinking the same thing.

I'm still clinging to my ideals that I'll have all my assignments finished before November (and if not, I only have 1 due in November anyway).

Which just leaves:
My 2 exams
My part-time job

...and yeah. The end.

BRING ON NOVEMBER!

damn all of you people...

whatever happened to part of the fun of nano being that you are so overcommitted the very idea of trying to add anything else into your program was insane, let alone trying to write 50000 words???

anyway, I just had to vent, its not your fault I'm a busy little bandicoot this year

- Convincing Centrelink I'm looking for work.
- Best friend's sister's 21st.

In case anyone's interested, I did get that higher duties promotion. Start trying to learn new duties on the 9th.

I've also managed to injure myself roller skating and will probably need a fair bit of work on my neck.

Bring on the stresses...

OUCH! I hope you're doing alright! I pulled my neck years ago and it's never truly been the same and it wasn't very severe. I really hope you get it back to 100% without too many hassles!

But YAY! Promotion! Well done!

Thanks Mel.

Yeah, know what you mean about the neck. I had a car accident last year and put my neck and back out, and I've never been able to get them right. Every time I take a big fall at derby, I have to get my neck and ribs put back into place by the physio. Lucky I haven't fallen that often so far.

I don't have quite the load that uni students have, because I'm only in year 8, so I won't try and take that away from you.
Next year's soccer selection for the first two friday nights, and 7-a-side after that.
Bus trips (I leave at 7:30, and get home about 4:30/5:00)
School, obviously,
The remainder of summative assignments, because reports have to be written by Week 6, halfway through NaNo and I am a terrible procrastinator.
Beach soccer for school.
all the extra chores I have to do so I can afford to pig out on lollies.
try not to let my parents think I am spending excessive time on the computer.

but, as Chris Baty said, if you have a million things to do, whats wrong with adding another.

Okay, my plans.
- Going to a costume party on the 31st, which means last minute planning is out the window, and hopefully not the 12am start.
- Driving over to and back from Melbourne in the first week.
- Catching up with a friend while in Melbourne
- Knitting a beanie for friend
- Trying not to be too anti-social in front of my in-laws while visiting them
- Helping my partner knit Christmas gifts for parents
- Back to work for my 4th week in a new job
- Trying to get my head around Objective
- Roller Derby awards evening
- Knitting a beanie for a Derby Girl's kid- I promised it a while ago
- Feast march, possibly on skates, possibly incapacitating myself in the process
- Spending 3 days in Canberra for work, training and meeting my co-workers from around the country.
- Going to a couple of Feast shows
- Going to Picnic in the Park
- Oh yeah, and writing 50,000 words

I'm thinking week 2 and 4 will be my weeks. I'm hoping to try for an evening write in down Melbourne st Cibo again this year, but we'll see how it goes, and if Tabby shows herself this year.
