Our first official NaNo event is fast approaching! We'll be meeting at B&N at the UP Mall on Sunday, October 25, starting at about 7 p.m. and staying until at least 9 p.m. We'll either be at the cafe or toward the back with all the tables. Either way, you'll know who we are - Jessica and I will both be wearing our NaNo ML shirts, and let's just say... you can't miss us.

This purpose of this gathering is just to meet other Wrimos in the area and share thoughts, ideas, concerns, and whatever about writing a novel this November. Hope to see you there!!

The B&N meetings will likely continue each Sunday through the month. Any other plans/demands for non-writing meetings? Post them here!

Yes, we'll be...noticeable.

This is not just for first-timers or for veterans. You'll have a chance to share your ideas with others who are probably every bit as excited about November as you are. You'll be able to share your concerns if you don't quite have it worked out (and, at this point, I'm in that camp. I still don't really know what I'm writing about.). Even if you're not totally sold on NaNo, please come along. You'll meet others who have done it before and see that it really IS possible to write a novel in a month. And if you know of someone who isn't yet registered and on the forums, drag them along.

Looking forward to meeting WriMos, both old and new!

I'll be happy to offer rides that Sunday to people who are reasonably close to the ND campus. I can squish 4 people in with seatbelts, and five more duct-taped to the luggage-rack cleverly disguised as kayaks.

Oh great, Blandles! I would like to reserve two seats/kayaks for myself and my NaNo friend, Isabel. We both live on campus.

Anyone from the Plymouth area who is headed up to the meet & greet tonight and that could offer a ride? Never mind...Shoot can't go after all. Hope to meet up with ya'll at another event soon and I should have my own ride back by then and could give a ride to someone in need.

Hi! I'm totally new to all of this, and I was just wondering, if it's every Sunday of the month, could I just drop in on any of those - or is it a thing where you can't come to the second/third/et cetera if you didn't go to the first? Because I believe I missed that one ...

You can absolutely drop in to anything that we have on our calender, at any time! Hope to see you at a write-in or meet-up sometime this month!

Oh, and the aforementioned mother is also prompting me to ask now - is there a certain age range for this or anything? (I'm only thirteen.)

Any age is okay by us :) My son (who is 13) occasionally hangs out at the meet and greats or write-ins. Your Mom is welcome to come to if she wants to check it out.
