Jamie, as the crow flies I'm not very far but in the winter when Independence is closed it is a long way to Aspen from Salida. Nice drive though. Haven't been to Aspen in a few years. I'm a Colorado native, daughter of a tungsten miner. Not to give away too much but when I was a kid Aspen was just a summer dude town. All it meant to my crowd was summer jobs wrangl'n horses. My first nano and I'm really getting into it. Let the snow fly! Words too--I hope. Nice to know there is someone just over the mountain doing the same thing.

I'm in Carbondale-- Middle School teacher. There are three of us here noveling that I know of-- and we're leading about 80 middle schoolers through the Young Writer's Program. We have a giant writing lab set up and a bunch of crazy kids. If anyone wants to come by and give their two cents of inspiration, feel free. Here we GO!

There are more people in Aspen/Glenwood.Carbondale since they have been communicating. I'm on my own again this year....I guess no one in Dillon, Breck, Frisco have ever joined Nano. I am in Keystone.

Best of luck finding those other Aspen/Glenwood /Carbondale people!

I lived in Old Snowmass as the first place I ever moved to in Colorado. First in the A Line house on the way up to gateway and then on a ranch on the back road. That was 1970. Happy Writing!

I'm at the monastery. We've just received several inches of new snow. I'm by a wood burning stove with my laptop. Good day for it!

Hope your writing is going well!
