Sunday Nov 1st is ok for me. I'm done teaching at noon in Causeway Bay, happy to write anywhere.
We should probably make a proper mailing list -- that way we can jot down contact numbers, etc, without broadcasting it to the world wide world. Anyone volunteer to coordinate this?
Where, indeed. Are most of us on the island or in the NT? I'm going to be in Sha Tin until about noon, but it wouldn't be a problem to go around Central or Causeway Bay-ish if it's a better location for everyone else. Though beyond thereabouts it's a bit too far for me, I'm afraid.
For future write-ins, I'm happy to go other places too. I live in Taipo, so anywhere between Taipo dn Causeway Bay works for me. I also know a food court near Langham Place that has big tables and you can sit for hours. Food much cheaper too, much more local...
If you are coming, send me an Nanomail/ lifeflame at gmail with your name and mobile, and I'll send you mine.
I'll compile a list of the HK group and if I'm organised enough, send it out Saturday night... if not, well, just look for a bunch of writers pounding away at Caffe Habitu.
i'm new to NaNo, also new to HK. I'm in Ma On Shan, and I already spend at least one, if not two afternoon/evenings in central for knitting. I don't know how many writing meet-ups i'll be able to attend, but i'll surely try!
Hey guys, I'm a first time nanowrimo-er living in Shanghai, but coming down for the next week for a visa trip to Hong Kong. I'm planning on getting a ton of writing done--does anyone have any suggestions of good places to go with coffee and a positive writing atmosphere? Or does anyone want to meet up and help me get motivated?
I'm from Perth, Western Australia, and I'm going to be in Hong Kong from the 9th to the 12th. If you've got any mid-week gatherings happening, I'd love to meet some NaNoers from HK.
I'm in Hong Kong, but thus far my writing opportunities only seem to be on the tram to and from work, so I'm not sure that counts as a gathering. Unless we could band together and fill a tram with writers, obstructing the commuters and rolling back and forwards through Hong Kong, being productive and using antiquated transport...

Ok, I'm just going to throw this proposal out there,.. unless ppl have better suggestions...?
What about 1230 at Caffe Habitu in Leighton Center, Causeway Bay (opposite G.O.D)?
They have a huge table for writing.

Depends on which are you're staying but basically any coffee shop would do. Starbucks and Pacific Coffee are great.
