Hi all,

I attempted NaNoWriMo a couple of years ago. I got 3000+ words in, somehow lost all my text, and, well, that was it. This year I'm more determined. I'm shuffling through some ideas, will start plotting, and getting some characters together. Hopefully I'll have some sort of time line that I can use to keep me going forward.

Rememeber...

It's Okay To Suck!

:)

Would anyone be interested in trying to plan a write-in in Visalia? We could meet up at a Starbucks on a weekend or something, so we could all share in this crazy experience. It's just an idea! Would anybody be interested? We tried to plan something last year, but I don't think it ever happened!

Yay Valeria!!! I'm chomping at the bit. I downloaded the high school workbook and am going through that trying to outline my characters/plot etc. You may try that for some pre-writing!!!

So this is my first year doing it.... I've known about it for a couple, and I finally decided to try! Of course, I also have a ten-page term paper to do, due on the 13th.... so let's hope I can write my fingers off this month! Good luck, everybody!

I'm up in Reedley but I would be interested. Maybe Borders they have free WiFi now.

Yeah, Borders would be a great place to meet. Although I haven't been there is quite some time, so I can't remember, is there like an area to sit at?

I honestly don't recommend the Borders idea. No place to sit, they're still rearranging things;
Even worse if you have a laptop... Oh, uhmmm, Visalia resident here if anyone was wondering.
This is my first time doing this and I too go to COS.

I was kind of thinking there might not be any places to sit at Borders... Do you think a Starbucks would be a good place to meet? Or do you have any other suggestions?
It's good to know there are other people from COS doing this too! Good luck with your novel!

Honestly depends on which Starbucks you pick and how many people are going to show.
Certain Starbucks are always packed, like the one on Main Street for example.

This is my first Wrimo, and I'm from Porterville. No laptop, either, so a write-in this year's not the greatest for me although it sounds wonderful.

Does anybody have any other ideas for somewhere to meet up besides a Starbucks? If we could find a non-crowded Starbucks it seems like it would be a good place to write, although I've never tried it... I guess I just like the idea of drinking coffee and writing :)

Sweenlit: it would be awesome if you could come to a write-in! You could always write the old fashioned way, with a pen and note pad, then you could join in the writing! That is if we're ever able to coordinate something, heheh.

The starbucks on caldwell in the winco parking lot is generally empty. There is also Panera Bread on Mooney that offers free wifi. Until I purchase my new laptop I am going to be old school with my notebook and pen! Haha.

I'll see what I can do if you do get one set up. I do go into Visalia at least once a month and can probably spare a day.

Panera Bread was a great idea. They have a ton of other goodies besides drinks.
And! Lots of places to sit.... Only draw back would be they are usually always hosting to a lot of people.

I also like the idea of Panera Bread! Maybe we could go at a time that's after the big lunch rush or something. I've been it in there on the weekend at about 2-3pm before and it wasn't too crowded... Is anyone else interested in meeting at Panera Bread? Does anyone have suggestions on when to meet?

I'm game, though I'm sure we'd have to make it on a weekend after a lunch run. Hopefully that will fit the majority of people's schedules.

Hope all of you are doing well! i wrote about 3000 words today to catch up, and have about 1000 to go to meet my daily goal.

Good luck my fellow WriMo's!!
