Greeting to all people in the Fort Wayne area! I was waiting for this topic to pop up, but then I got impatient.. yes. Patience is a virture that I never really had. What a shame. Like some people, I am also part of the Elsewhere in Indiana region where there is already a Fort Wayne thread started so I encourage anyone here to also join that region so you don't miss out on anything important.
So, lets do a call-out here! Anyone from Fort Wayne should post a little something so we can get to know eachother before the insanity begins in about two weeks.
:)

Err... not sure what to say. My name is Danielle... this will be my fourth year participating... but sadly, I only completed my first attempt. Life has gotten a lot more hectic for me this year, but I remain stubbornly optimistic.

My name is Darwin. I'm a resident of the Fort, as well. This is my first year participating. The incentive that drove me to try this is that, although I've sold several short stories, I have yet to finish a complete novel. Also, I have been in a writing slump since April. The hope is that a mad dash for 50k will help me stop second-guessing myself and just write.

Hello! I'm Cassie, and I'm a resident of Fort Wayne as well. This is my first year in NaNoWriMo, and I'm 16 years old....
and that's all I've got to say really. :) I'm late to even discovering that this amazing thing existed, so little time to prepare my desk to write! :(

Hi all you Fort Wayne Area people!
This is Anni, your ML!
Sorry I can't make it out there for write ins, but if you all are getting together, I would be more than happen to send you some swag so you can have some fun too! If you want to designate one person to hand it out, that would rock!
Let me know what you want me to do and maybe next year I can make it out there personally. :)

I'm Brian. I live south of Fort Wayne near the airport. Anyone in the Southwest Allen County area want to get a group started? If so, I could do some checking at the Aboite branch about getting some space.
I'm a first-timer and two of my kids are doing this as well. Much hunting and pecking around my place . . .
Be in touch . . .

I've written before and have published two books and some short stories. Haven't done NaNoWriMo -- heard about it at a women only trip to Glacier National Park -- our journaling coach told us about it. Had a novel languishing in my computer for several years and this prodded me to get back at it. (Also a good excuse to learn Word, since I'm a WordPerfect user). So got out my PYBIACASW sticker and got back to work. Needed this KITA to get back at it and hoping to have something ready to publish at the end of the month. Just keep the moral support coming, gang. We all need it.

Hello everyone! I almost forgot to check this area of the site because more of the talk about Fort Wayne is still going on over in there Elsewhere in Indiana region. There is going to be a write in at B&N this Friday evening AT Jefferson Pointe. There is talk of getting a group together at Mitchell Books in Covington Plaza. If anyone is looking for a nice place to write I would encourage there. They have a nice area with plenty of tables and chairs with free wifi. I'll keep everyone here posted to the best of my ability.
Happy writings. =)

Hope everyone is clicking along on all cylinders. It is amazing how having a date certain to focus on inspires a person. I know I have gotten way more done than I ever expected. When I started, I had a stalled draft of about 8K and have been able to expand it to 40K in a relatively short time. I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's not an oncoming train. Thanks to all for their moral support.

All cylinders? I'm a V-8 someone installed in a lawnmower, so I'm a bit cramped and stalling . . .
Is anyone in the Fort Wayne area up to organizing a write-in one day soon? I could use the camaraderie, and the kick in the pants. I might try to make the one at the Pontiac branch this evening (Saturday the 14th from 3-6). I need to catch up . . .

I live down the road from that branch (well..it's a decent walk but not insanely far), depending on what my schedule looks like around then, I may coax myself to talk a walk down there.
I have to admit, I'm pretty far behind as well. I've been avoiding writing for some reasson. Phooey on me. I'll make an extended effort to try and be there, just can't make any garuntees. If I don't see you, my words of encouragement are as follows: "Keep writing! You're not as 'stalled' as you think you are. You've got something written and that's no small feat! (Plus you've got way more wordage than me, so give yourself a round of applause and remember- it ain't over til midnight on the 30th!!)"

Very true. I'm actually writing right now, sitting in my garage with gloves on, pounding out the scene that set the stall in motion. An oxymoron, I know, but there it is.
I'll try to get there at around 3 and see where things go . . .

Sitting at the Pontiac branch right now . . . and it's sorta empty. I'm wearing yellow. I'll be here until 4:30.

What did we ever do before computers -- (and the programs that count words) -- it's so easy to interleave changes. Well, everyone keep tap-tap-tapping on the keys.

The best thing about this has been finding out that I don't have to wait for my "muse" to show up -- I know that I need to write an average of 1200 words per day to stay on schedule. With the deadline staring me in the face, I just have to sit down and start writing and keep one eye on the word counter. As I see it go up, it gets easier -- at least that's how it's working on this project.
